I never write reviews about restaurants, howver
I ordered a TOASTED Cheese and Ham & coffee , the toastie arrived at the table barely warm, took it back to counter to ask if I can have it toasted further.... a young lady (brown hair starght - curls on the end - with nose pierce) abruptly turns around and tells me this cannot be done as it is a food safety issue. I could not believe what I heard. Just another case of walk-in-get-your-money-shut-up-eat-get-out.
So sad to see that customer service has gone out the door , also some staff think and treat people are idiots.
BTW - The rest of the team were AMAZING behind the counter, and could not do more. Bourke St Bakery - you have a beautiful shop in Barangaroo - pity this one young girl could ruin the whole experience.
I got the toasted sarmie eventually and was great - pity had to go through such a rude ordeal, not such a good start to my day.
I work in the food & beverage industry 30 years now - but did not want to go there. Hope you sort out this young...

Beef Brisket, Mushroom & Red Wine Pie $8 From here on in the pies got better. Oh my god this pie was absolutely delicious. A mate recommended this pie. The pie felt heavy . The pastry was spot on, cooked well, the top a little crispy, not too dry, just a tad soft. The brisket was soft and tender. You could probably cut it with a butter knife it was that soft. The Mushrooms and the red wine sauce matched the pie well. The flavour combo worked really well, the sauce wasn't overpowering either. serving temp perfect. Only downside it started to break apart towards the end, a sign of the pastry just being a tad soft but i'm pretty skilful with one hand. Highly recommend this pie. Now if I had to score it would be 9.5/10 4/23 Barangaroo Ave, Barangaroo NSW 2000
