Introducing another deep review. As usual, visited the Meat&Wine Co for a date night, it was a fresh experience that I would love to have again. Total of 4.5 out of 5, being honest. Food was as amazing as every recommendation can be, we tried enough from the menu to understand why people love this place and, despite price can be high, is one of the places where it is worth every cents. The beef tartare was my partner’s favourite, is fresh and the flat bread is an amazing piece to go with. Both of us selected the M6 Rump Wagyu in 2 different cooking temps just to try out and the result was a perfectly cook steak. For side dishes we (and the waiters) recommended highly the Mac and cheese cauliflower, however the chips and salad the come with the steak are by themselves an amazing pairing. Another good recommendation is to pair your flavours with the sauces options, yeah there might be an extra cost, but they are worth it as well, specially the creamy garlic sauce (100/100). Desserts tho win an special place in our visit, the apple crumble was just unique and who would say sticky date could be that perfect? As fans of sticky dates, we would come back just to have that ten times. Drinks were above average, I was expecting wine service as pouring in front of you but that doesn’t happen where, which got me a bit disappointed. Cocktails are a great option but only for dessert or starters, wines are way better in this place. A minimal problem happened when I order the house Port, the glass in which was served was all sticky and disgusting, it was obvious that the person that served it dropped some in the glass (at least I don’t want to think any other situation). But that couldn’t ruin the whole experience. Now about service, beautiful and fresh, the waiters do their job and they do it amazingly, whenever you raise your head for something there will always be somebody helping. Bishok, our waiter, was efficient and hard worker, he had a function of 14 by his own plus some tables, including us, and even with that he did his best to verify we were doing great. We thank him for doing all the best. Hostess were just nice, nothing that greats you with confort, and there were no manager or supervisor presence. We will definitely come back and expect good things from them.

The interior was beautiful and we’re seated at a nice table in the front of the restaurant. Table was nicely set up and the staff serving us introduced themselves to us, which was very polite. He came to tell us about the menu and told us what was good. 😊 The food came and it was lovely, the oysters 🦪 were very fresh. The scallop ceviche was on the salty side and we couldn’t finish the grilled octopus. As for the main, we ordered the ribs platter (pork and lamb ribs) you can also pick beef if you fancy. It was nice, meat was tender and nicely cooked. It came with house salad. The highlight was their skewer, we ordered salmon skewer with mash. 🥔 it was beautifully cooked, and the mash was also very smooth. If we are to return, we’d more skewers over ribs. In the end we ordered a carrot cake to share, the dessert was lovely. Flavoured well balanced, and the ice cream was very smooth. Their desserts are to ordered if we’re to come back again. Overall the experience was good, our staff was friendly and helpful. However, they were constantly coming over to us even when our friends hadn’t arrived yet ask if we needed anything. We felt like as if we’re being chased to order food. 😅 Then once we’ve finished dessert your staff came to collect the dish and she said, ‘I can take this plate and the bill?’. We have recently finished our dessert and it was a little impolite as to how she has phrased the sentence even if you are in a hurry to closed. It was generally a comfortable meal, but service was not as great as I would envision for a restaurant as such.

This is my first Google review because I feel like I had to share the experience. My wife and I came here for our shared birthday (her 40th, at that) with our two young kids. We haven't ate out like this in many years with young kids so this was a very special occasion for us. Unfortunately things did not go well from the beginning. We were seated in a pretty average spot despite tables with better views etc. being available the entire night, but we can look past that ... The main problem was our waiter did not make us feel comfortable at all. Not a single smile, it was like we did something to offend her. Please let us know if we did anything wrong. We ordered 2 drinks. Both were served to me. My wife was very confused. Food was OK, the rib-eye was tasty at least 😛. We ordered a kid's meal for our kid, which was meant to come with an ice cream. The ice cream never came at the end, but we were ready to leave anyway. When we asked for the bill (which we had to follow up on, as well as a high chair for our 2 year old), we were served a SINGLE scoop of ice cream with a sparkler on top (wait, wasn't this the ice cream that was supposed to come with the kids meal anyway??!!). We wouldn't have minded if we got nothing, it wasn't something we were expecting. However, the table next to us got the nice desserts you see in the other Google reviews for their occasion, so we really didn't know what to feel. Is this discrimination? Did we do something wrong? They gave us a small scoop of kid's meal ice cream - I honestly wouldn't have written this review if we had received nothing at all. That was the final slap in the face. Very disappointed. One way to ruin 2 birthdays. The whole experience left us with a bit of steak in our back teeth, both literally and metaphorically 😞.

It was our anniversary dinner. Our expectations were up there. But, it was about to collapse. From the get go, we knew it was going to be a long day trying to celebrate. My wife is non-alcoholic. She ordered a mocktail, "Pineapple Express". We were served with our drinks. After about 5 minutes, a waiter came to our table and said her beverage would have a shot of vodka. Why on earth would you serve something we haven't ordered? They knew they served something we didn't order. Rather saying, we have made a mistake and they want to correct it, they just acted as if we would be fine being served alcohol for a non-alcoholic. That's a no no for us. I ordered two serves of cognac in one glass. I get a glass with water droplets all over. Imagine a glass straight off the sink without drying, that’s exactly what I got. Food was good. We ordered the Wagyu Tartare and Calamari for entrée, they were good. Then the main, we ordered the Wagyu Rib Eyes. We were never offered salt and pepper while we watched them asking other patrons if they needed salt and pepper. Desserts were good. Specially the Mulva Pudding. Overall, it was the worst experience we’ve ever had. Service was atrocious. They took a lot of time between courses to inquire the intentions for the next course. We would never recommend this place to anyone. We’ve had better for the price. We have made a booking for a future date (prior to the first experience), a table for 4 to enjoy a meal with our in-laws. Don't see us dining there anymore.

Last week I got to attend a Big Cty Mick influencer event at The Meat and Wine Co in Barangaroo and it was truly a sensational night. I did love it was a more intimate mature event with wonderful guests 🥩🍷🍸🥩 I have been to this venue a couple of years back - we loved the steak back then and I loved it this time. This time they have taken it to a whole new level. Dry aging beef is a process that involves hanging freshly cut beef in a temperature-controlled environment for anywhere from a couple of weeks to several months or more before being trimmed and cut into steaks. But this time The Meat and Wine Co infused their steaks with COFFEE!! ☕️🥩 The strange thing was all the coffee drinkers couldn't taste the coffee, although loved it and all the non-coffee drinkers tasted it, with one of them saying it was too strong for him. I thought it added a wonderful flavour and it was perfectly cooked, I did drink mine with an espresso martini. 🍄🍄 I did see some truffle-infused steaks in the dry ager so assuming they are next - I MUST HAVE!! 🥩🍳 My fave dish of the night though went to the tartare - it was one of the best I have ever had - I didn't want to share!! You guys and gals need to come and try this out! Oh, and the service was exceptional - the staff were just wonderful!!
