This place is one of, if not, my favourite place to dine at in Barangaroo. The view from this place at sunset is just gorgeous but unfortunately, we missed it this time round. The banquet is the easiest thing to order, as you get to experience some of their signature dishes. We went for the $89 banquet which seemed pretty generous serving wise! We started off the evening with ‘Tasmanian Ocean Trout sashimi with apple ponzu, pickled mustard seeds and shiso’. It was absolutely gorgeous. Fresh and the mix of flavours was just divine. We were then served some ‘Vegetable and tofu spring rolls’ which were nice and crispy on the outside. Next came the dumplings, ‘Lobster, scallop & squid ink’ and ‘BBQ duck & spinach dumplings’. I mean, I could eat a thousand of the squid ink dumplings as they’re my favourite! The ‘Singapore chilli soft shell crab’ is always a winner for me. There is just enough chilli to give the dish a little kick but not ruin the flavour of it. Squeeze a little lime and lord, it’s heaven in your mouth! I only ask they should double the serving because it’s so good. Then came the ‘Wok fried black pepper beef with broccolini, corn and truffle oil’, ‘Steamed fish fillet with ginger and shallot’ and ‘Steamed Asian greens’. The beef was cooked to perfection and was full of flavour. The fish was cooked very well but the flavours were nothing to get excited about. Both dishes paired well with the steamed greens and boiled rice though! Not included in the banquet, we ordered some dessert to finish off the evening. ‘Mango sorbet, coconut foam, rice crackle, blueberry & ume.’ When it came to the table, we were a little underwhelmed by the presentation until we took a spoon to it.. the colour inside just popped! It was fresh and it’s exactly what we needed after dinner. If you haven’t been to this place yet, book a table and try and get it just as the sun sets. It’s just gorgeous.

I’ve been hearing good things about lotus, mainly from my wife who has been several times at the lotus galleries restaurant. Lotus at Barangaroo is located right opposite the Barangaroo ferry station and about 100m from the iconic crown hotel. If you have dined at any restaurant located at Barangaroo, the seating is a waterfront covered outdoor area with some spectacular views of Sydney. Not only is the view amazing, so is the food when. It’s beautifully plated and the quality of ingredients in each dish brings out the best flavours. Like any fine dining restaurant, lotus offers a banquet menu for those that can’t choose what to eat and just leave it to the chefs. Ordering a variety of Individual dishes is probably the most preferred option in Asian cuisine, to share around the table. Some of the dishes we had that I’d recommend to list a few would be: - grilled beef short ribs - wok fried king prawns - wok fried flat noodles with prawn cutlet The menu broken down into the following categories: dumplings, starters, seafood, rice & noodle, poultry & pork, beef & lamb and vegetarian, dessert & drinks menu. Be prepared to check out with an expensive bill, lotus offers premium quality food & drinks. Whether your there for delicious food or sunset drinks it will have great atmosphere and a unforgettable experience. The average cost per person including drinks would be $50-60 range, but depends on what you order and how much you order as well. Reservations is highly recommended in advance because it’s a popular restaurant in a prominent location and will get packed for either lunch or dinner.

We went here for lunch and some of it was good, but enough of it was enough to not recommend nor return to this restaurant. The starters and dumplings were great, we had crispy dumplings, lobster dumplings and duck pancakes, all cooked and tasted brilliantly. Then we had the mains, my main was the beef ribs, ~$60 for some overcooked strip of meat with nothing else on the plate but a tiny bit of chilli garnish. Other members of my group had steamed fish and lamb ribs all also fairly mediocre. When I go to a restaurant like this I'd expect to eat something I couldn't cook better at home, this wasn't that. In addition, a warning before you come here is at the bottom of the menu in small writing they list their crazy surcharges, 10% Sunday surcharge, 15% public holiday, 10% surcharge if you have a group of 8 or more people!, 1.5% for credit cards and 0.7% for debit. So if you play your cards right, you can get a whopping 26.5% surcharge for your already overpriced meal! Overall, while the starters were great, because of the mains and the ridiculous surcharges, I do not recommend going here, and continue looking around instead.

This place is awesome. From the minute you walk in to the restaurant to the minute you check out after paying the bill this place has it all Location location location just in the heart of the Barangaroo precinct surrounded by the magnificent harbour and other restaurants Food selection is great though easier to just go banquet when dining with a large group. The quality of food and presentation is wonderful and the servings are extremely generous. One cannot possibly leave this place on an empty stomach. The service is amazing! Maurice was our waiter. Wonderful all the way making sure his guests were well taken care of and left with a feeling of utmost contentment after dining at Lotus! I was there with s large group and we were sat around a round table so our conversations were easy and food easy to share. I would have no hesitation to strongly recommend dining at Otis when next in this beautiful part of town. Whether it’s for lunch or dinner you must add this place to your list of “must dine at “ places whether alone or as a couple of with loads of friends. Please LIKE my post if you found this valuable

We (4 people) came here for dinner without a booking; however, we were very promptly seated at a nice table. We got the banquet menu with a total of 12 dishes, and many of them were really good. My personal favorites were the salmon sashimi with apple ponzu (the fish was buttery which was delicious), the prawn and calamari dumplings, the salt and pepper calamari (amazingly crispy), the BBQ duck with mandarin pancakes and hoisin sauce (the star of the show for me, so good), and the masterstock crispy pork with Thai chilli mint (just yummy). The chicken spring rolls and the steamed pork wontons were okay, the steamed barramundi fillet was fine, wok fried wagyu beef fillet was a bit underwhelming. There was this bihoon salad that was quite refreshing, and some other veggie dishes. The service was really friendly and attentive. The restaurant’s ambience was pretty nice - it was warmly lit. It was a pretty windy and cold night and the heating was working well. Situated right next to Barangaroo, the restaurant was in a very convenient location.

Overall, the food was nice, but there were a few things that could have been better. The serving staff made us feel rushed, and it was a bit disappointing that they started packing up the tables and chairs right next to us. Not the most pleasant atmosphere. They kept asking “are you still picking?” When clearly we had more food left on the plates. As soon as they packed the dessert, they wiped the table and put the bill down. Now, let's talk about the food. The salmon had a slightly fishy taste, and the octopus didn't have much flavor. However, the mushrooms were absolutely delicious, and the beef was also very tasty, so was the fried chicken. The duck dumplings had a strong flavor, which might not be for everyone, but the steamed barramundi fish was succulent and full of flavor. My absolute favorite was the fried rice, simple but delicious. Overall, my experience at Lotus had its ups and downs. The food had some hits and misses, and the rushed atmosphere was a bit off-putting.
