OK, been here before, was alright, so why not go again... As we got there, waitress provided a couple of glasses and bottle of water, whilst another asked the waitress her to wipe the table down, which was done oh so sparingly. Later, when the order was taken (and this different waitress was actually pretty good) the Big Breakfast was clearly asked, several times "no baked beans", which she wrote in the order (I saw it) and eggs fried 'sunny side up'. Coffees came as requested, and were pretty good, a ¾ Latte and a double shot macchiato - all good there. The meals came out and the Brekkie Burger was all good, tasted good, so a tick there. The Big Breakfast, however, came WITH Homemade Baked Beans and eggs were fried 'over easy', probably just how the chef / cook likes theirs, forget about how the customer would like it. Ticks deducted here. The waitress seemed awkward and unsure about how to deal with this when advised - I could take the beans off, clean the plate, etc. Now, I can't go past mentioning the minor infestation of "drain flies" sitting around on the walls and flying about - not sure what that actually says about cleaning of sinks, drains and the like in and around the kitchen... At payment the issues with the Big Breakfast meal were mentioned to the person who seemed in charge, checked the original order, which was clearly written as ordered and sort of apologized for the oversight, stating this shouldn't have gotten past the kitchen staff and the waitress who should have checked the order before bringing to the table - we weren't charged for the baked beans (!!) We thanked the waitress who took our order and she expressed genuine surprise that the order came out wrong-ish. Oh well, that...
Read moreJust aviod this place, seriously, it is not worth your time and/or money. We were a bunch of cyclists finishing our route and decided to grab a coffee from this place. From the old guy (I think is the owner, by the look of it and the other reviews):
He approach to us straight away and said: "lower your voice, I can't even hear my thoughts" Dude, this is a cafe not a royal tea room or a church.
He approached for a second time saying: "keeping down, this is not a pub" I mean, I think, I'd rather had a beer than a coffee at your shop with that attitude, to be honest.
My wife went to pay our coffees and (even with the "10% sunday surcharge") the card show an error at first, he say: "dont you have another card, like a REAL card to pay with?". Then of course, the payment came through the second time. My man, tsk tsk tsk, go home and drink camomile or something.
Coffee was excellent (even tho, they never did a cold coffee for my friend).
Service FROM the waitresses was very nice, (sorry to her as we were kind of a lot of ppl, hehehe)
Again, avoid the place, I have never would go again neither...
Read moreFirst time visiting this cafe. Ordered 3 regular chai lattes, unfortunately they just tasted like milk. I thought that perhaps they made a mistake by adding only enough chai for a small size, so I decided to bring them back to kindly let them know. The owner was quite abrupt and said he'd "fix them" rather than just making fresh ones. He was about to mix all three drinks back together and then add more chai powder, because "we were family so it shouldn't matter". Given the covid situation I thought that was a bit concerning. I had to ask him to keep them separate.. I offered to just pay a bit extra for him to remake them but he insisted on reusing the same milk. When they were finished "fixing" our drinks, one of the waitresses brought out our drinks and asked how they were - we said they tasted better, but they were all cold. The girl offered to microwave our cups.. I really just wanted them to remake them properly given I even offered to pay, but I got the feeling she might have been a bit scared of the boss who insisted on using our existing drinks and didn't want to make it hard for her. I won't...
