Soto — Restaurant in Sydney

Korean owned Japanese restaurant. Have been a few times however due to the consistent poor and lack of service we won't be returning. Firstly we were given a filthy highchair. If your own seat at a restaurant is that dirty you wouldn't sit on it, so I don't understand how they feel it's okay for a child to.

The waitress served my soft shell crab cone roll on a stand upright, as she tilted it to place it onto our table the whole roll fell out and onto the table and half the soft shell crab fell out of the roll too. She left, then came back and used gloves to pick up the fallen pieces and dumped it into the dish we were using to for our empry edamame shells.

However, they did not bring us a new roll. Then tried to charge us for it too. After i questioned her why she didn't ask the chef to make a new one she said he's busy. She also tried to shift the blame to say it fell immediately AFTER she put the roll down. There was no apology just a lot of eye rolling from the waitress. It's truly not about the 5 bucks, if their staff feels its acceptable for customers to eat food thats fallen onto the table, imagine the poor food hygiene we don't see happening in...

Typical Kapanese, Japanese food made by Korean people. The food was ok (3 stars), except the 'fresh' tuna on a sushi roll smelt, so not so fresh, the service was bordering on poor, not rude or anything, just sort of oblivious, but the reason for the downgrade is the cleanliness of the place. Rubbish all over the floor, the toilet was dirty and the whole place inspires little confidence in hygienic practices. Really hard to find great food in Hornsby so pleasantly surprised by the food at Soto. Great atmosphere with open kitchen. Service was amazing without being pretentious. Food was absolutely fabulous.
