I had an extremely unpleasant experience as an Uber driver for the first time. I went there to pick up an order. This place is usually calm, with a single worker handling everything efficiently, but today it was unusually busy with numerous deliveries, takeaways, and dine-ins. I waited over 20 minutes for my order, and even saw another driver who arrived after me receive his order first. Thinking it might take longer, I decided to step outside for a smoke. While I was smoking, a staff member I hadn’t seen before informed me that my order was ready. Since I had a cigarette in hand I asked him to wait a moment. However, the man—likely the owner—angrily brought the order outside and handed it to me, demanding I leave immediately. He accused me of trying to make extra money by waiting longer, as he claimed he had to pay me from his side. Shocked by his attitude, I explained that I had already waited long enough and would leave shortly after finishing my cigarette. Instead of calming down, he began arguing with me, verbally abusing and threatening to rate me poorly on Uber and block me. Despite his aggression, I stood my ground and told him to focus on his job while I will do mine. The usual worker at the shop eventually stepped in to diffuse the situation. It was clear the owner was overwhelmed by the rush and took his frustration out on me.His behavior was unprofessional and created a scene in front of customers dining at the restaurant, likely ruining their experience as well. Hospitality requires resilience and competence under pressure—qualities this individual lacked. If he cannot handle a busy environment, he should either seek proper training or reconsider his role in the industry instead of...
Read moreAll the complaints about food taking time - the chicken is made fresh to order. That means it is only fried when the order is placed. It's not premade and sitting in a warmer like at KFC or Hariri. This isn't a fast food venue - and that is Broaster Kogarah's strength. The chicken is fresh and made to order. It's written on their wall.
I would definitely recommend the tenders - these are juicy thicc bois with a crispy coating. It's not the typical tender you get at KFC, these are bigger and juicy.
I'm uncertain if these guys are having supplier issues, but I have had inconsistent experiences on dining.
Their gravy is disappointing. It's too thin and is often cold. But the gravy isn't the highlight of the meal. On one instance, we were served Beer Batter cut chips instead of the regular chips. Didn't matter too much.
I've ordered the Fried Broaster chicken twice - in my first experience, the batter was crispy and textured like the tenders and the ribs were large. In my second experience, the batter was flat and the ribs were smaller.
The wings promotion (3 for $1 with a meal) is cheap. I wouldn't say they're spicy. And the batter is different to the tenders.
There are areas for improvement. But these guys are still worth visiting. Just remember - it's...
Read moreYesterday, my husband and I visited Broaster Chicken in Kogarah. Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience, mainly due to poor customer service.
We placed our order and waited for over 30 minutes before the food arrived. When I politely asked how long it would take, the staff member completely ignored the question. When our food was finally served, the 6-piece spicy wings were extremely salty, to the point where we couldn’t eat them. We shared this feedback, but instead of any apology or assistance, the staff member (with a long beard) responded with an attitude, saying, “This is our standard.”
We completely understand that taste preferences vary. What was really upsetting was the lack of courtesy, no apology, and no effort to resolve the issue, not even a refund or offer to replace the item.
As customers, we expect basic manners and respectful service. We left feeling unheard and disrespected. I sincerely hope the team reflects on this and improves their service approach. Good food means little without good service. Please learn some manners how to deal with the...
