Kogarah Hotel — Restaurant in Sydney

Terrible experience. We order one SPICY fried rice but they serve with very salty fried rice, we couldn't have it. Then they change another fried rice with very sweet and no spicy at all. So we ask to change with the spicy one. After ten minutes, we did not get our food so we tried to talk to the chef if they don’t want to serve us anymore then give us the money back because we did not have it. Well, the chef was shouting and very angry with us. End up the chef came to our table and took the picture of the face without any permission. We ask him why he took the picture, he was lying that he did not ( but there are no other customers in the restaurant only us and the camera was facing us). We were trying to get the right food which we order and it deserves the price. And we don't know what the chef will do with the pictures. The chef said that is what Thai food it is. But we love Thai food and is the worst Thai we have ever had. The thing really makes this experience so bad is because of the customer's services. Went upstairs to the bistro at Kogarah Hotel for lunch with a group of about 20 people — no lift, but the stairs were easy. The space was clean and comfortable, and the staff were welcoming and very helpful, even moving tables around to accommodate us.

There was a good selection of classic pub food, plus daily specials. It was Tuesday lunchtime, and to their credit, the bistro team handled our large and unexpected group very well — a bit of a wait (understandably), but everyone was cheerful and accommodating.

Walked in and asked where I can find a menu and the bistro. Bar staff straight ask for id (I'm a 24 year old tradie that just finished work clearly not a child and requesting id to meet I'd check numbers is just wrong) I had no plan on drinking and after the her trying to speak down to me when I asked why (I'm a part time bartender and have been for years so I know the RSA rules) she demanded it was the RSA rules and how this venue has special rules by the department blah blah after I called her out on straight lying to my face because I knew better she has...
