Brot and Wurst is the best place on the Northern Beaches for German food. In particular the smallgoods are outstanding, in many cases much better than what you would even get in Germany. I recommend the Leberkas which you can fry in a pan and serve with fried potatoes and fried egg. Also the sausages are a must whenever we have a barbecue. Love the ham salad in mayonnaise, but then you probably need to be German to fully appreciate it. The variety of goods is good, there is not much missing, and you can even stock up on deli from our nations such as Russian, Polish or Dutch foods. Read moreOn a good day, the coffee is exceptional! However, most days the coffee is horrendous and mostly when made by the younger staff. A number of times now my coffee has been “half full” and mostly froth. The staff are often busy chatting amongst themselves and very rarely friendly or inviting. The close times often vary from day to day making it incredibly frustrating when needing an afternoon fix.
