First Impression: Down the Bulletin alley with outdoor seating and cosy space inside, staff are fast, efficient and extremely pleasant no matter how many are in the queue.

Look & Feel: Walk in and feel transported away from the mania of Circular Quay and into a coffee-roasters den. Great space to take a breather and enjoy your coffee. Look out for the random toys and models.

Quality & Taste: Coffee is phenomenal (long black $3.00). Rich, full of flavour and a nice dark caramel note which is perfect both black and white. Barista's more than have the chops to deliver this great roast.

Hip Pain: Standard city prices for coffee and a simple food menu which also looks reasonable ($9 sandwiches, $3-4 sweets and treats).

Must Have: Coffee, coffee, coffee. Check out the guest blends and single o's as well.

Any Advice: BeattheQ might help with the lines, but love the...

Nothing to write home about, coffee is OK not the best I've ever tasted. I was standing doing some practice observation for training taking some notes and the staff made me feel really uncomfortable...He came over and asked if I was writing a story... when I told him I was doing some practice for research he just said it was really WEIRD, who was he to judge? Don't understand why that comment was necessary. Then the barista kept saying get her out, get her out... why cos I was doing practice research? Was I not a customer and didn't I pay for the coffee? I wasn't doing anything specific, the topic for practice was pick a random coffee shop and check it out...never felt so uncomfortable at a...

We had the family visiting from overseas. Whilst at the opera house I searched for a place for an afternoon coffee. This place came up so I called to make sure they were open. Only an answering machine responded stating they won't answer the phone during service. I tried the website which was under construction and without any information. Anyway we decided to head over with the mother in law and her bad hip. We arrived to find the place closing. Just 5 mins past closing time. They refused to make 4 quick coffees. There were around 5 personnel there so it is unclear why no one could answer the phone. The place really needs to get its marketing and customer service act together. I ll not...

Excellent hidden gem coffee bar in a side alley behind the Marriott Hotel. Dark in appearance inside but adds to its appeal. Not a large seating area inside but more outside. Great in-house roasted coffee giving a smooth tasteful flavour. Order some food and get a plastic animal as your table number is funky which adds to its character. A place that appeals to real coffee drinkers and NOT laptop squatters who only want your free Wi-Fi and drink one coffee for hours on loud open hands free phone calls. A must for coffee lovers if in the area.

My regular Sydney CBD breakfast spot for 10 years now, with good coffee and great toasties in an old warehouse nearby Circular Quay. Around 9am the queue to order is out the door and into the street, but it's worth the wait. Coffee is well balanced and served with quirky antique spoons, and instead of a table number you can choose your own dinosaur or animal figure to identify with. The toasted ricotta and taleggio sandwich is sinful but I order it every time.

If you’re looking for something uncomplicated, delicious and super reasonably priced - this is your spot. It’s also a really cute lane to sit in, just off the Circular Quay area. We had sourdough toast (two pieces) with avocado (half) & tomato (I think it was $12) and sourdough with Vegemite ($8). It was exactly what we were after and so reasonably priced. Coffee was also great (two small iced lattes). We will definitely be back.
