I stayed at the Radisson Blu during hotel quarantine. While my review might be more reflective of the quarantine experience, I think much of it will still be relevant for guests enjoying a post-pandemic stay. I was in a superior twin room on the 4th floor and was very pleased with the space and amenities on offer. The bathroom is large and well lit with fantastic water pressure and heating. There is a window that can be opened in the bathroom that looks into the bedroom, this allows extra light in, an increased sense of spaciousness, and the ability to enjoy a bath and watch the television at the same time. For those of us calling the room home during quarantine, the bath makes for a great laundry basin and there is a decent range of options when it comes to areas to hang drying clothes. Three large windows allow a good amount of natural light in during the day. It was a shame that they can’t be opened to allow fresh air in, but this is not such an issue when allowed to leave the room freely (as in more “normal” times). There wasn’t much of a view (I could see buildings and a little bit of sky) but that really wasn’t a big deal. The beds were comfy with nicely weighted duvets. A lot of thought has clearly been put into the layout of the room- much of the lighting setting can be accessed while lying in bed which is great (is there anything more frustrating than being ready for sleep and having to get up to switch all the lights out?), and the air conditioning controls are also close. There are numerous outlets around the room, including by the bed and desk, and the Internet was decent (I was able to stream shows, download apps, host zoom calls and share my screen, etc.). In terms of amenities, my room came with an iron and ironing board, a robe, hair dryer, torch, safe, kettle (and tea and coffee), mini fridge with decent space, drinking glasses, wine glasses, mugs, and a cork screw. The TV is also pretty decent HOWEVER my greatest regret was not bringing my HDMI cable so I could connect my computer to it. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I genuinely felt that the hotel was trying hard to provide a good quarantine experience for their guests and I really appreciate the care they demonstrated in making us as comfortable as possible. They were incredibly prompt in delivering drop offs (such as Uber eats) as well as responding to requests for fresh towels or linens. The most frustrating aspect of my stay had to do with meals, I have a number of dietary restrictions including a severe tree nut allergy but still received meals including an entire range of foods I cannot eat (including nuts on many an occasion) despite routinely telling the team what I can’t eat and having them write it on the box my meals arrived in. I would like to note that the kitchen was receptive to my feedback, apologetic, and made efforts to better accommodate my dietary requirements, and my food options did improve as a result of this. Shout out to Nicole at front desk for helping connect me with the kitchen on this front, she was very helpful. The kitchen staff had great communication with me when there were issues, and the whole team in general (including the nurses) were a pleasure to talk with. Big thanks to everyone, they’re doing a great job. Please note- the photos attached to this review were taken 14 days after arriving at the hotel (during which time no cleaning staff were allowed in the room).

Its rare I can't criticise anything, let alone a hotel. Well there's probably one thing but its not actually a criticism. Sydney has changed so much since I lived there but the Radisson is in such a beautiful building sandwiched between O'Connell and Pitt Streets, once a newspaper building and in such a good position, close to Circular Quay and all forms of public transport. We chose the cheapest room, an Atrium room; luckily we were upgraded though wondered exactly how much smaller the atrium rooms were because the superior was small also but saying that perfectly kitted out with everything you'd need. No real view at all except out to Pitt Street. Not sure if the higher floors had better views. Pool and spa a nice touch. Was told after being ushered into our room by lovely Yumiko, that the mini bar was not available (didn't ask why as I never use it, just for storage). Bed was fantastic, soft, comfortable, no movement. The carpet offered soft quietness also. In fact the whole hotel was very quiet, granted we arrived Thursday and yes Friday night there was some sort of party going on across the street and even with double glazing it was very loud. It lasted only a few hours and then quieted down by 10pm. Luckily no repeat on Saturday night. Hard for a hotel to control noise outside its confines. Aircon perfection! Who brilliantly designed the controls next to the bed? Thank you as no need to get up to change it and very very easy with no noise really to speak of and perfect comfort temp wise the whole 5 days. Towels lovely and large thank you, no tissue sized bath towels these were bath sheets. Sheets on the bed lovely soft cotton. TV small for a hotel room but the room itself was small so perfect size with a HUGE array of things to watch as it had Foxtel. Casting whilst easy to understand didn't work for us. Lights also fantastic. I'm a bit of a light fanatic. Bathroom especially; it had the close mirror with a light around it, brilliant and softer-ish lighting which I didn't use much as I like muted lighting in the bathroom especially for a bath, which was also a great touch as most hotels don't have them these days unless you pay top dollar. Didn't hear much outside the room, to be honest, like people next door. Again we were there in off season, as most people might have gone to Melbourne for the cup that weekend. Lovely lovely touch was a bottle of sparkling Bilyana Wolf Blass as it was a birthday trip. Staff were lovely, helpful and non invasive. Price was very good also. Would stay again. Will review restaurants under their respective entries.

Positive negative vibes.. Lucky enough to reach here on my first booking, got my Visa in November 2020, and booked tickets for 15th December via Eithad Airways. No cancellations nothing Alhamdulilah!! I arrived on 16th December and brought to Radisson Blue Sydney. Lemme give you quarantine experience of mine till now. I was told that quarantine hotels are very dirty and in a filthy state but to my surprise the hotel I am brought to is super clean. My room is big, quirky and clean I can't complain. Cozy, but a good kind of cozy I must say. There is a large window that do not open. (tried thrice today 😂 but it didn’t open) In the room I do have a small fridge but no microwave. So, most of the times I have to eat cold food. They give us meals per day, more than enough for a person like me. I return most of the food. I can’t eat lots of food plus I'm a vegge lover and I don’t like chicken much. So, sometimes it’s hard for me to eat chicken and protein products. There is an electric kettle but it’s operation is weird, it switches on and off on its own. Being a tea lover, I am spending time counting my days daily. The daily menu is posted on the telly each day and a combo of carbs, proteins. The hot meals are generally luke warm and gets cold if I am offering prayer or busy somewhere. BreakFast is okayish, I am generally a French toast and tea kind of person so swallowing cereals daily is bit hard for me. We are allowed to receive deliveries once a day, My husband sent me meals twice. I am losing my taste buds I guess. I can’t enjoy food alone, so the experience so far is 50/50... Requests to the hotel are dealt professionally. I ordered brown bread toast yesterday and a milkpack which was delivered immediately. Medical team calls to ask for any symptoms every morning. Aside from this, staff were friendly when we all entered and take us to the rooms along with luggage. Overall it is a pleasant stay and the location is excellent, but it failed to meet the 5 star luxury that was advertised (due to food thingy) and that I was anticipating. . I stayed at the Radisson Blu for one night on 29 April 2023. As part of my booking I had selected the buffet breakfast to be included in my package and had opted to use the valet parking.

Upon my initial interaction with Radisson Blue I was very impressed. The staff appeared well presented and were quite welcoming and friendly upon my arrival. I left my car in the valet drop-off and handed over my car keys which were in perfect condition.

I went up to the room and was very impressed. The room was immaculate, the air conditioning was set comfortably and there was a nice welcome greeting on the TV.

Despite having a short sleep, I felt well rested as the bed was very comfortable!

I attended the buffet breakfast shortly before my booking time. There was a short wait despite having a booking, but it wasn't too bad. The breakfast was delicious however, and the staff were great!

The real disappointment of the stay however comes at the literal last minute of my stay at the hotel. After checking out I was waiting at the valet drop off area. My vehicle pulled up and the driver exited and began apologizing profusely to me. Initially I thought there might be some damage to my car, however I was soon relieved when he informed me that it was just a problem with the car key. He then handed over my car key, which was now being held together with sticky tape and the buttons were upside down and out of place.

He informed me that he had to tape the key back together and reassured me that "it's all okay as the key still works." I had no idea how my key was broken as no explanation was offered.

I could not stick around to rectify the issue, but I believed it would be easily corrected via telephone call and email after showing them the state in which my key was returned.

Upon using the key, I discovered that the functions of the lock and unlock buttons have now been switched (lock button unlocks, vice versa). I'm guessing as the key was being reassembled by the staff member with sticky tape the buttons were placed in the wrong spot.

I emailed the hotel informing them of what happened. I found their response more disappointing than having my property damaged. To quote Mr Singh's (Duty manager) email response; "...After conducting a thorough investigation, we regret to inform you that we cannot accept responsibility for the damages... our investigation has revealed that the damages were not caused by our staff. Staff reported the keys started to fall apart when they were used to turn on the engine and in order to keep the keys in working condition our team taped the keys"

I am neither a mechanic nor key-maker, but it certainly does not take a detective's investigation to discover that keys do not simply fall apart when used in an ignition. I understand mistakes can happen and the damage was probably caused by staff dropping the key, which is a relatively minor and innocent mistake.

Attempting to negate all responsibility and lie regarding the circumstances of my damaged property is what left my experience with Radisson Blu ending on a sour note.

I replied back to Mr Singh requesting information on how to appeal or escalate this matter as their investigation and response is ridiculous. My request has gone unanswered. I do not like leaving negative reviews, however I am unsure about how else I can have this issue rectified.

I paid excess of $450.00 for a single night and valet service to have my property damaged, followed by am initial poor response.

EDIT 1/5/23: I contacted Mr Singh via telephone the next day regarding the issue. He informed me that he had conducted further inquiries and realized that a mistake had been made. He apologized for the inconvenience and agreed to reimburse the valet portion of my fee, which was extremely reasonable and made me feel much better about dealing with the Radisson Blu.

Despite the minor hiccup, the Radisson Blu is still a great hotel, with excellent staff and food! I'll be sure to ask which mattresses they use on my next stay as the...

I recently had a stay at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Sydney’s CBD. My booking at this hotel was the need to be near the Cenotaph in Marting Place as I was the MC for both VP Day and Vietnam Veterans Day for RSL NSW. This amazing hotel is a gem in the heart of the CBD, combining modern luxury with historic charm. As you arrive, you are greeted by a grand lobby that perfectly balances elegance and comfort. The Concierge and front of house staff are incredibly warm, welcoming, and professional which makes checking in so easy. The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated, and offer a perfect blend of contemporary style and classic sophistication. The beds are unbelievably comfortable, with high-quality linens and pillows that guarantee a restful night's sleep. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail in the room's amenities, from the Nespresso machine to the luxurious bath products. The bathroom was like a mini spa, with a deep soaking tub and a rain shower that was pure bliss after a day of exploring the city. One of the highlights is the hotel's incredible dining options with Fax Bar, Dining room and the Business Class Lounge. I was able to enjoy a fantastic breakfast each morning, with a wide selection of fresh, high-quality items. At the end of my very busy days, I spent down time in a very impressive bar which offered a great selection of wines, cocktails in a relaxed setting. It would be remiss of me not to mention the Hotel’s staff whose commitment to providing exceptional service is apparent in every interaction, making you feel welcomed, valued, and well-cared for. They take time to offer a genuine welcome, providing helpful information about the hotel amenities and local attractions. I would add that their knowledge about Sydney is impressive, and they are always ready to offer great recommendations, whether it's for dining, sightseeing, or hidden gems in the city. I should also commend the House keeping staff as this is where the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Sydney shines. They are meticulous in their work, ensuring that rooms are spotless and well-stocked with everything a guest might need. They are also incredibly respectful of guests' privacy and always greet you with a friendly nod or hello in the hallways. One of the truly impressive things is the hotel’s location. It is in the very heart of the city, within walking distance of all the major attractions, such as the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, the Rocks and the Royal Botanic Garden. It is also close to all public transport as well as Light Rail. I would add that despite its proximity to transport being so centrally located it manages to maintain a tranquil atmosphere, providing a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. Overall, my stay at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Sydney was nothing short of perfect.
