Excellent experience. Delicious food! Myself and three girlfriends caught up for dinner, shared a bunch of starters/entrees between the four of us, had two mains that we shared in pairs, and enjoyed some light refreshing sodas. Well timed, warm and thoughtful service. Very impressed. Had booked because of recommendations on a Facebook group for GF dining, and Cafe Patina lived up to expectations and then some. Would love to come back. Thank you! Very happy GF girlies tonight. See photos for delicious dishes we enjoyed. Very conscious of caring for dietary requirements, proactive staff well versed in the details of the menu. Love that they use tallow too! Venue saved to my Google maps for next time. Thank you.

An amazing cafe for brunch tucked away in the quiet streets of Wahroonga, right next to Wahroonga Park. We had the banana bread French toast and the coconut chia bircher muesli. The banana bread was so delicious, not overly sweet and so fluffy, the caramelised banana went perfectly with the bread as did the vanilla ice cream. The muesli was also very good, the coconut yoghurt and toasted hemp seeds were a great combination. We also had a banana and mango smoothie which were both amazing as well. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a nice brunch spot surrounded by greenery.

We had a family lunch at Patina. The coffee was good. I ordered charred beef ribs and Crème Brûlée for dessert. The ribs were delicious and perfectly cooked. The 4 star for the food is because they used a sweet sauce for the ribs that did not allow me to savour the beef. I would have enjoyed more my main course without any sauce that masked the flavor of the well cooked ribs. The service was professional and attentive. I liked the outdoor seating along a quite street with nice views over the Wahroonga Park.

Cafe Patina PATINA a disappointment. 2 out of 10 There are other much better places in Wahroonga…

Today after a bit of a break from Cafe Patina, I went back and ordered your Eggs Benedict; firmly done eggs, smashed avocado, Hollandaise sauce. Cappuccino OK Mango smoothie OK and a Bloody Mary – and this is a real problem

The eggs presentation looked excellent unfortunately when they arrived they were cold, and got colder by time I got to the second one. Even the Hollandaise was cold

There were so cold that I suspect that there's some significant delay between preparation and serving, or maybe putting a warm egg on top of cold avocado and covering it with Hollandaise from the fridge made the serve chill much quicker.

This what not what I have experienced anywhere else of quality. SIMPLE: PUT THE COLD AVACADO ON THE SIDE. Warm or heat the Hollandaise.

SERVE EGGS ann MUFFIN HOT

I SUSPECT YOU HAVE A JUNIOR IN THE KITCHEN.

But your Bloody Mary is a serious bloody disappointment. SERIOUSLY IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED I remembered last time I had that it had so much ‘bitters’ (or Worcester Sauce or Tabasco or whatever you use ) that it was really too too sharp to the taste .

And so, ahead of ordering THIS TIME , I asked if I could have it without the bitters, and the lady told me, ‘No, it comes pre-prepared”

Nevertheless, I chanced it again. It got served again and I was totally unable to get through it, it was almost undrinkable because once again it contained way too much ‘bitters’ which overwhelmed any of the components of the Mary; it really REALLY doesn't need to have so much bitterness. Maybe the ‘boss’ likes his tasting like Worcestershire Sauce (or Tabasco). Perhaps he likes to burn his tongue and perhaps he does not want to have any remote resemblance to a properly prepared Mary. Maybe there are other motives.

This is a pity because this ‘Bloody Mary for breakfast’ could be ‘a signature’ for your facility – setting you apart… Where else can you have a Bloody Mary for breakfast’

The fact is that it doesn't need to have ANY bitters in it. Any burning spice could be added ‘last minute’ just like if the person wanted just to adding smashed avocado or salmon to the Eggs Benedict. It could be an add-on if the customer wanted it.

I am sorry, todays experience was an overwhelmingly sad disappointment, so I won't be back, particularly because of the cold eggs Benedict and the cold muffin…and now two bad memories.

The girls who served were excellent.

I tipped the girls 10%.

Thank you,

PS I am just a customer. I have no affiliation with any...

Terrible food and appalling service.

We went to this cafe for Mother's Day lunch, having rung first and checked there was an available table. We were told there was a table free, but didn't realise until we were sitting at it that it was the WORST table in the cafe. We sat right next to the toilets and the crowded take-away coffee counter with huge numbers of people standing right on top of our table throughout lunch making conversation and privacy impossible.

The food was very below average - the salad I ordered was inedible. It contained undercooked pumpkin that did not have the skin removed, and the entire salad was coated in some horrible greasy oil that tasted vile. The salad was meant to come with tomatoes and pine nuts - two tomato quarters were chucked in and a few pine nuts sat at the bottom of the bowl under all the greasy mess. I couldn't eat this disgusting $20 dish.

When I mentioned at the time I paid the bill that the salad was awful and showed the waiter the uneaten salad bowl left sitting on our table (he could clearly see it as our table was right next to the main counter) he just shrugged it off and didn't offer me any discount or explanation for the horrible, inedible food this cafe served up. I didn't ask for the $20 charge to be removed from our bill, but it would have been nice if the cafe had bothered to take some or all of the salad cost off our bill as I clearly hadn't been able to eat any of it.

Finally, the service in this cafe is extremely poor. It is overrun with young wait staff who have no clue what they're doing. We had only been sitting down for one minute when the waitress hassled us for our orders. We told her we needed more time and boom! she was back again in another minute hassling us. Told her again we needed more time and boom!! back she came again in record time!! One of the drinks we ordered never appeared so when I paid the bill I asked for it to be taken off the account (as she had remembered to include it in the bill, just never remembered to actually bring it to our table!) She heard me say this to the waiter at the cash register because she came back with the drink (not in a glass, just a can of Coke) and tried to give it to me when I was paying the bill. I was shocked at how inept her service was. I would not recommend this cafe to anyone. Great location, but horrible food and pathetic service. Stay away, there's many other places in the area who are much better than this...

We received a voucher in the mail for a set menu (and free glass of bubbly) on Wed and Thurs nights with BYO, as it had changed hands and this was to encourage locals to try it.!The chef sounded interesting. So we decided to invite some "foodie" friends and take some special wines. We were disappointed and surprised when we discovered only one person in the group received the free bubbles....who gets the prize was the question! Then we sat down ....The bench seats are so soft and low we needed cushions to be supplied to be able to eat off the table. The couple on the other side, in the chairs, said they were hard and uncomfortable. No money seems to have been spent on the decor since the previous owners and it lacks ambiance. The food was underwhelming, and very seafood orientated which was a problem for our group as one person does not eat seafood. One dish was just prawns (with some sort of sauce)....no garnish, no anything else to enhance the dish. The beef cheeks were quite tasty. I would not recommend this place as it is not value for money. The menu leaves a lot to be desired. We were disappointed. We will not go...
