This place probably doesn’t need me to add to their already great reviews but here’s my two-cent worth after yesterday: I’d had the food from Chargrill Charlie’s on numerous occasions before and always heard rave reviews prior to trying - the chicken is always juicy, the salads always more-ish and there are never any leftover chips or wedges (best wedges I’ve ever had, by the way!)
So yesterday I had the perfect opportunity to order some Chargrill Charlie’s via Uber and did that. The wait was about 1 hour long - we thought surely it wouldn’t that long, the place itself is only in the next suburb! We waited and waited and waited some more while the delivery kept getting delayed until finally our order was inexplicably cancelled 10 minutes before it was finally meant to arrive.
I decided to drive to Chargrill Charlie’s myself to find out what happened and why, and placed the exact same order (because I actually still wanted to eat their food despite being very annoyed by this point).
To cut this already super long review a bit shorter, Uber was at fault (probably didn’t want the bad review coming their way!), CC’s staff apologised and gave me a free meal (thank you so much again!). From Covid check-in to check-out, it didn’t even take 10 minutes to receive my order!
Finally, about the food I received yesterday: the schnitzel burger was enormous and very yum, the chips lived up to their reputation and the chicken was also very tasty. My only tiny criticism: the chicken breast was a little on the dry side but life can’t be perfect all the time.
I would most definitely keep eating CC’s food. I would also most definitely avoid ordering via Uber Eats again. And I wish CC would start a partnership with other delivery apps...
Read moreRecent visit on the 18/03/19 - their chips and gravy are still great but their bacon on the chicken Cesar salad is below average. They are not crispy and stick to each other in a big stack. Lost appetite.
This is pretty much my local chicken shop although I don't live around there. hahaha It feels like my local chicken shop anyway because of their customer services and their great food.
Other than their awesome chicken and chips (which i will go into details shortly), they have a great range of food other than chicken. Heaps of salad, pasta, pre-made food options including Asian cuisine. What I love the most is their chicken burger with peri peri sauce and their made-to-cook chips and gravy!!! very delicious! i have been having theirs (from the same brand) since I was a kid in school. And the quality is still the same!
Price: Its decent; a meal is between $10-15 Food: there are plenty of pre-made and made-to-order options. Takeaway food quality Ambient: Nice rustic decoration (feels like a local chicken shop) but limited seating
p.s apparently a number of celebrities have been there too judging by the wall of frame where they took photos with a few starts (i.e Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Kyle...
Read moreI ordered a half chicken meal with the 3 veg and gravy. Got to the checkout and whilst the server was pulling out a bag i was asked if i wanted to buy a bag for 15 cents.
stop insulting customers !!
How would i take out the food when it is supplied in flimsy paper / lite cardboard containers that will leak when too much liquid is put into it. ie water from the peas, gravy etc. do you expect me to put that in my car.
It just leaves a bitter taste ... pardon the pun. just put up your prices again. I would rather pay an extra $1 for the meal than being asked "would i like to buy a bag for 15 cents" at checkout .... then of course being automatically surcharged by your tyro eftpos machines without first being told.
why not charge 15 cents for the plastic container that holds the gravy? why not charge 15 cents for the cardboard food container? why do not charge a gas surcharge?
did you charge the 15 cents for the uber deliveries?
Let me know if you stop charging this distasteful 15 cents and i will come back. just put up your prices again. my meal was $21.90 just make it $22.90 and build it...
