Hidden in Balmain, Charlottes Cafe boasts an incredible character! The cafe itself is a tight space, but has a nice decor, lots of natural light and not to mention a view of the city. Warm place to begin your day.

It is important to note that the cafe is a pay at the counter incase you sit down before ordering.

We got an Iced chocolate that was packed with flavour and a coffee on the Campos superior blend. ahhhh my favourite. The service after ordering was quite prompt.

I myself got the marinated grilled chicken breast that came with a generous greek salad. The salad was really nice, and huge pile of chicken for my protein fix.

We also got the Charlotte's Special (An Oldie But a Goodie) and oh boy this was right. A smoked salmon eggs benedict with some great additions which added another element to the dish, including fried capers and red onion. The flavours were amazing and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Overall it was a good experience and one that we would go back for!

6/5 stars - A Game-Changing Cafe Experience!

I've traveled the world and sipped coffee in countless cafes, but none compare to the sheer perfection of Charlotte! This place is a masterclass in hospitality, quality, and ambiance.

From the moment you step in, you're enveloped in a cozy atmosphere that feels like a warm hug. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. The coffee? Sublime. I've never tasted anything so expertly crafted. The food? Delicious and devine. Fresh, creative, and made with love.

But it's not just about the products - it's about the experience. Charlotte has a soul. It's a gathering place for the community, a refuge for the weary, and a hub for creativity.

If you're a coffee snob, a foodie, or just someone who appreciates the little things in life, do yourself a favor and GET TO CHARLOTTE ASAP. Trust me, your taste buds and your soul will thank you.

P.S. I'm...

Firstly, when you're paying premium prices, decent service is just a given, but it's not what we got. When an apple juice was delivered instead of the pineapple juice that was ordered, we were told that it's just the way the pineapple juice comes. It was a freshly squeezed apple juice. No pineapple. Just bizarre to be told to just drink what you're given despite what you ordered. Then when the food came, everything was just dumped on the table. No explanation or attempt to find the right owner.

Secondly, was the food itself. The 2 stars given are both for the poached eggs which were the highlight of the visit and cooked to perfection. I can't say the same for the cold tomato and pumpkin which was cold on one side and hot on the other.

One of the bathrooms was flooded and in a unhygienic state.

Just shocked when all the reviews we've read about this place were good. Not sure what...

"My experience at Café Charlotte in Balmain was delightful. From the moment you walk in, the warm atmosphere creates a welcoming setting, offering much more than just a coffee break. The kitchen serves delicious dishes, artfully presented with meticulous attention to detail. The ambiance at Café Charlotte is conducive to relaxation, whether you're alone with a book, with friends, or for an informal meeting. The friendliness of the place makes it a versatile choice. Regarding the value for money, Café Charlotte strikes a thoughtful balance. The quality of the dishes and the overall experience fully justifies the prices, providing a satisfying culinary journey. In summary, Café Charlotte in Balmain is a highly recommended spot, blending culinary excellence, a pleasant atmosphere, and reasonable prices."

Tucked just off Darling Street, this place is a quiet overachiever in all the right ways. It’s not trying to be flashy, but the menu speaks for itself—one of the more interesting and well-balanced lineups I’ve seen at a cafĂ© in a long time. We had the fritters and the chilli scramble, both seriously good, but the real star was the house-made chilli oil
genuinely next level. It’s got that rare mix of comfort and creativity without tipping into pretentious. Can’t believe we’ve lived around the corner this whole time and only just made it in. Safe to say it’s earned a spot in the regular rotation. 5/5.
