Mort Bay Park Mort Bay Park has numerous open space areas, an all abilities playground and great views of Sydney Harbour. Built in 1854, it was Australia's first large scale dry dock. Balmain wharf is at the beginning of this park During WWI and WWII the docks were busy places, building minesweepers and corvettes. Mort's Dock and engineering closed in 1958. Dog friendly Park I had a really friendly bulldog make friends with me, cute and friendly bulldog!!

Nice area for a walk.Has a children's climb and play area and an Ares for owners and their dogs. Has a Great Harbour Bridge view .Also has a ferry wharf so you can catch a ride to Circular Quay.

Passed here after the walk at Ballast Point Park. It is near the Balmain Wharf. You can easily visit this place via ferry from city in Circular Quay. Nice view. Relaxing. See photos. πŸ’™

Part of my daily dog walking ritual and a great way to start the day. Amazing view of harbour, the coloured cottages and a great spot to watch the Ferries come and go. Usually an eclectic mix of dog breeds with responsible owners occupy the area accompanied by a steady flow of local joggers or fishermen looking to snag their first kingfish! This area is one of Sydney's gems and generally a great place to feed the soul. Hoping the new plans include a freshwater pool and some closer...

Great park for the little ones - although watch them closely as the whole area is quite open with no fencing. The climbing tree is popular and a nice change from all the run-of-the-mill, cookie cutter playgrounds around. Lots of space to have picnic and BBQ parties. A dog friendly space is located to the northwest of the wharf. The only thing really missing is a toilet closer to the actual ferry wharf. (There is one closer to the dog park, but 400m is a long way to walk...
