Very bad management and rude customer service. I purchased 2 take away coffees, stood outside and relied my coffee on the table while I was topping up my Opal card (bus stop is 1m away from the shop). I was approached by a bossy and rude lady asking if I was waiting something else as tables are for those having drinks there. When I said I had purchased coffee from hers and was finishing organising my belongs as holding a phone, a credit card and a coffee is tricky, she asks me to go to the bus stop then as I was occupying space. 8 out of maybe 10 tables were free which I told her I didn’t mean to disrupt the places routine as there were plenty of seats and she keeps asking me to move. Her attitude made me feel embarrassed, humiliated and it’s unwelcoming. Won’t be back again even tho I recently moved one block away from her shop. Worse experience I had in the past 3 years I...

Fabulous little place on King St about halfway between Newtown Station and Sydney Park with some interesting & original fayre on the menu among the stock-standard breakfast, brunch & lunch favourites. The lady who served us was really friendly and gave us plenty of time to choose and service with a smile.

My mates shared an avocado on toast with smoked salmon and annihilated it ... I had the home-made potato rosti with scrambled eggs & bacon which was absolutely superb ... the home-made relishes were delicious too.

Couple of home-made sodas on the menu including a Butterfly Pea Lemonade which was as yummy as it was purpley-blue ... as if the food & service weren't already worth returning for that lovely refreshing softies was very memorable 😋

Keep up the great work Chill Cafe, my chums visiting from Canada 🇨🇦 will no doubt remember you as...

We went to Newtown around 8-9am to see what cafe is open for quick breakfast and we had a chance to see this cafe serving food at that hour.

The place is very homey and felt like just in a small house which is good.

We ordered omelette with salmon, mozzarella and mushroom, chicken wrap and 2 hot chocolates.

For a quick meal, this restaurant can be an option specially on Sunday morning wherein usually cafes opened later or closed.

For the food, I would say its okay. maybe can be improved in terms of taste and presentation but maybe the presentation is just designed like normal serving at home or may portraying and local restaurant. The hot chocolates taste more milk that the chocolate but i liked the big large cup where they served the hot chocos.

Will visit again when we have time to drop by in Newtown to...

I am going to become emotional even writing this review. I visited my friend in Newtown from New York City and stumbled upon this little cafe at his instruction! Immediately after walking in, Satya (the owner) treated me like family. She was the most welcoming and kind human that I’ve ever met. This cafe has felt like a home away from home. Everything from the music, to the luscious green aesthetic, to the delicious and fresh food. Oh - and don’t even get me started on the coffee. I swear they have some of the best in the world. If I could give this cafe 6 stars I would. Seriously if you’re passing through Newtown, give this cafe a chance. It will feel like you stepped into an oasis of pure happiness.
