I was hunting for a coffee on Monday on which many cafes take their break. The choices were reduced on King Street.

What caught my eye were the soft tub style arm chairs in the area open to the street. I like the look.

Sure enough the chairs were much better than the common cafe chairs which are frequently simply uncomfortable and better for stacking than sitting.

My order requesting a macchiato (my usual test) lead to the question “what size? Large?” I should have guessed macchiatos were unknown in this cafe.

Sure enough I received a large cup (see photograph) of coffee, not quite a flat white but an attempt to simulate a macchiato - I don’t think I needed the chocolate on top.

I was too time poor to engage in conversation about the coffee. What stopped me complaining was that the coffee was really tasty even if not what I ordered. They use Mocopan beans.

This is a Turkish style cafe. Once I spotted the Turkish delight I had to try one - I went for the pomegranate flavoured delight. Wow, what a great add on to an afternoon coffee. I recommend their Turkish delight.

I wish I could rate this cafe higher. I can only judge based on my experience. King Street is replete with great coffee so they do need to understand the common coffee orders they are likely to receive. The barista was pleasant and the decor felt a bit Turkish.

I had to drop a couple of stars for the coffee error. I am however curious about their food. There are some negative reviews. I still would try the food on another occasion and make my...

Went to the take away section of this cafe, after seeing Gozleme advertised outside the store. Unfortunately they only had cheese and spinach gozleme. Kind of disappointing they didn’t have beef gozleme. Instead I ordered a burger combo. Food was good. However the reason I am giving a 1 star was due to my bad experience at this restaurant with poor service.

After ordering, I was told to pay next store, at the seated area. This was fine. After paying we sat down in this area of the restaurant to wait for our food while it was being prepared. We were then told off for sitting down there as we had ordered take away and apparently could not sit down in the restaurant. Even though the restaurant was not busy at all and there was no where else to sit to wait for the take away. He assumed we were going to eat the take away in the store even before we even had our food. When I told him we were waiting for the food, his response was for us to keep going to check if the take away food is ready. I found this was really poor service. And completely unnecessary considering the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. I won’t be returning here. In fact the only reason we came here was because a lot of other cafes had closed for the day as it was...

We were walk ins and ordered our meals which we found to be satisfactory - but definitely nothing special. While waiting on our coffee order & after providing staff with two reminders we were suddenly told by the owner’s daughter that she needed to “kick” us out - no explanation provided but presumably to make our table available for others (despite the place being half empty). When we said we were still waiting on our coffees we were asked if we could have take aways - and of course we declined. I certainly appreciate the need to turn over tables but this should have been declared BEFORE we were seated so we could make an informed choice about dining there! Being provided with no warning is unacceptable - particularly given the small portion sizes (on huge plates), chaotic service, and high prices being charged here. We also later realised we’d been overcharged but thought it best to let it go given their earlier rudeness. I think the responses from the owner to other reviewers on this forum expose their antagonism and greed far better than I could so I’d strongly suggest diners give this one a miss - too many far better and more hospitable options around the corner in Enmore to...

I recently dined at Ferah Turkish Cafe & Restaurant and found the overall experience quite enjoyable. The atmosphere of the restaurant is inviting and warm, perfect for a casual meal out. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, contributing positively to our dining experience. We opted for the banquet for two, and while the presentation was appealing, the portion sizes were somewhat disappointing. The platter was predominantly filled with large slices of tomatoes, cucumbers, and watermelon, which, although fresh, seemed to overshadow the variety and quantity of the other dishes. The egg serving was notably small, and the bread provided was insufficient for the amount of dips served, which was a letdown since the dips themselves were tasty. In summary, while the setting and service at Ferah Turkish Cafe & Restaurant were commendable, the food portions, particularly in the banquet, could be improved to better meet expectations. I would still recommend visiting for anyone who enjoys Turkish cuisine, with the hope that the feedback on portion sizes might be taken into consideration for an even better dining experience in the future.

Another gem in Sydney! Tried to call them earlier but I couldn’t succeed so tried my luck for breakfast. When we arrived, waiter greeted us warmly and has tried to find us a table as they were fully booked out. He gave us a menu but I simply asked them if they had breakfast-for-two deals. He smiled and reassured us that it was their specialty. Well, he was right! The “sigara borek”, olives, cheese, Turkish salami omelette, “menemen” omelette, cheese bread, pita bread, traditional tea pots, honey with cream, strawberry marmalade, Nutella, butter, walnuts, orange slices, watermelon pieces, tomato… I got tired by just writing all of the set menu. Were they delicious? As us Aussies would say, bloody oath mate! As I asked couple of questions to the owner in regards to restaurants around the region, she was so helpful and friendly that we ended up talking for at least 15 minutes straight. She had to cut it as they were so busy as the customers kept flowing in. If there are many customers walking into a restaurant, it is a bingo! The price was very economical. I will go there again and share more photos with you all. Take care.
