At the collingwood hotel, eating lunch ( great food and awesome service from the kitchen). Had my ID checked which was no issue at all provided it, continuing to eat my lunch with workmates and decided to get another round of beers at the bar. The manager (Theresa(old blonde lady) was very rude, she asked for my ID which i replied to her saying my ID had already been checked. She very rude and abruptly said " Well i haven't checked it" which i then kinda shook it off and gave my ID and replied why would i need to show it again when I've been checked already. She then replied "well you'll probably get it checked all night if you stay here". As this is happening she is filling my beers I've ordered and at this point I'm quite annoyyed and frustrated and she could clearly see that and said well if you're gonna act like that just leave. I have never met such a rude mananger before, how she became manager is beyond me as she is meant to set an example for for the other staff with her behaviour. Appaling service by THERESA. Thanks won't be coming back here again but in saying that though the...
Read moreCLEARLY THEY DONT HAVE ANY QUALIFIED CHEFS at this establishment. The only nice thing on my plate was the dressing on the salad. We were the only two people in there so I expected the food to be cooked fresh.... (especially having 6 people working in the kitchen)... but, my Chicken schnitzel was lukewarm and the bed of chips under it was COLD... what the heck?! The “mushroom gravy” was worse than badly cooked chunky onion gravy made at home by a 5 year old and poured all over the schnitzel so it had soaked it all in... yuk! I ate two bites and we left. My friend ordered creamy garlic prawn steak.. we oredered the steak rare because they over-cooked it last time (this visit was our second chance visit, and it was even worse than the first time). The “rare” steak came out well done..... at least it wasn’t cremated like last time. But the milky runny mess on top with prawns? that was disgusting! LITERALLY MILK! Not creamy garlic sauce at all.
No wonder this place is dead. I can’t imagine people who enjoy actual quality food coming back to...
Read moreWe popped in one weekday for a quick feed. Restaurant is only open between 11am and 1pm. The food wasn't bad but we've had better at other pubs with similar prices. You can ONLY pay via cash or Pay ID. No credit cards. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean, but the whole pub itself is a bit run down. The staff are nice and friendly, and the tap beer is excellent. Some say it's a cheap place to eat, but it isn't. It's reasonable for what you get. My dish had a whole Kransky sausage that looked like it was reheated about 15 times. Yes, I did eat it, and it was still OK. I've placed a number of pictures with meal prices so you can make up your own mind. For a quick meal on the go, it's a pass from me, and it's a million times better...
