Macquarie Paradiso Function Centre — Attraction in Sydney

I recently attended an event at this function center, and while there are certainly some positives, there are areas that need significant improvement.

Pros: The hall itself is beautiful, with an amazing ambiance and a well-thought-out setting. Parking is also accessible, which makes arrival and departure convenient.

Cons:

Accessibility Issues: There is no ramp or lift access for people with disabilities or parents with prams. My husband and I had to carry our pram, with our child in it, up the stairs—an experience that was both inconvenient and unsafe. Accessibility is a basic standard that should not be overlooked.

Lack of Cultural Inclusivity: In a country as multicultural as Australia, it’s disappointing to see function centers that fail to accommodate cultural diversity in their food packages. At this event, the host had no choice but to include the hall’s catering in the booking, despite knowing that most guests would prefer traditional cultural food. While the host made the effort to provide our traditional food separately, the serving was poorly managed. Plates were taken from the tables, and our traditional food was mixed and we were asked to eat them together with mashed potatoes, which most of the guests don’t eat regularly.what happened to seving mashed potatoes, our food separately and guest collect the choice they wanted.

It felt like the center was imposing unfamiliar food choices on guests rather than accommodating their cultural preferences. Function centers need to recognize the diversity of their clientele and provide options that cater to a wider range of dietary and cultural needs.

While Paradiso is aesthetically pleasing and convenient in some aspects, the lack of accessibility and cultural inclusivity is disappointing. These also reduce future patronage. These are crucial areas for improvement to make the center more welcoming and suitable...

Five stars does not feel enough.

My partner and I had our wedding here in March 2023 in the diamond room and I have to say this was the absolute best day of our lives!

We originally booked for March 2022 however due to covid we had to reschedule for the following year. From the point of initial contact, to the reschedule and to the end of the wedding Odey and the team treated us with the same level of respect and the highest customer service which did not waiver.

The packages were so inclusive and set Macquarie Paradiso aside from the rest where the other vendors we checked out tried to sell us the wedding in parts. Odey met all of our requests and we must say when we got the first look at the set up, we were absolutely blown away by how well it was put together and amazing it looked.

My guests had the best time and they have been raving how attentive the staff were. Every time one of the beers / wine was empty a staff member would be there to swap it over with a fresh one. The staff were also so attentive to us, we truly felt like a king and queen with the serving demonstration they put on for us and especially sitting up on those big chairs.

Food was delicious, lighting was on point, DJ and MC were great and so many photogenic displays for our wedding photos – you guys really covered all basis.

Just a big shout out to Navid and David who made the night run so smoothly.

There are no words that I can think of, that will accurately describe how utterly amazing our wedding reception was. Asking the Macquarie Paradiso to host our event is right up there with one of the best decision I have ever made in my life.

They say the first impressions are the ones you remember the most, Odey was an absolute professional from beginning to end, his years of experience his attention to detail, his guidance and suggestions, the way he operates I can not speak highly enough of this man and his company. I am so proud to say that I have met him and look forward to being a client for life.

The personal touch shown by Odey truely made me feel like I was a part of his Paradiso family and this theme of family carried out through out the night. I have heard nothing but praise about all aspects of the evening, from the service to the quality of the catering, and most of all how effortlessly they orchestrated the evening. There wasn’t a single guest I spoke to that did not enjoy themselves.

The Paradiso were so accommodating to us even with last minute changes and coordination with third party vendors. when stress and anxiety are commonly spoken about when organising functions I am so happy to say that we did not for a second ever have these feelings, which meant we only needed to worry about having a good time.

Best of all I know the future is in good hands as many of the above qualities were displayed by Odey’s son who I have no doubt will maintain the high standards set by his father.
