Cornucopia Bakery is a hit and miss when it comes to food, service and drinks. I understand that it is a new bakery in Naremburn. They seem to lack consistency and sometimes take customers for granted. The last visit was a surprise.
The first visit I ordered two coffees, almond croissant, and Vanilla slice. It was good. When I asked for a bottle of water the tall man filling up drinks stock who was working there did not greet, acknowlege me and carelessly handed me the water without looking behind to see who it was. Otherwise it was good.
The second visit I ordered Morocon Pie, Nutella Babka and coffee. The lady gave me the coffee but not the pie. I waited for 10 minutes thinking it was being made. When I went inside to check she had totally forgotten. The pie was luke warm but full of flavour. The Nutella Babka tasted nice though a bit dry. The coffee was ok.
The third visit I ordered a coffee, ice chocolate, one chicken pie, sausage roll and a chocolate cupcake. The coffee was pretty bad because it lacked foam, too milky, lack of taste and too bitter. The ice chocolate couldn't be made because the lady said they ran out of ice cream. So I had to change it to hot chocolate which tasted bland, lacked chocolate and just plain milk. They also ran out of sausage roll so I had to order another chicken pie. Clearly they need to improve their stock control. The chicken pie was spicy. I found it to be oily and the pastry not cooked enough. Though it tasted ok. The chocolate cupcake was ok though could have been better.
My fourth and lastest visit today on Sunday I was looking forward to giving their sausage roll a go as I had missed out before. I was going to order a sausage roll and a bottle of water. There were two young girls at the counter who did not greet, acknowlege, and bother to ask me for my order. I waited for 10 minutes and they simply ignored me and served others. It took both of them to serve just one customer at a time and ignoring the rest. They didn't even know who was first or second in queue. I just left without ordering as it was a bit of a disaster and probably...
Read moremy partner and I ordered coffee and breakfast they forgot to include the relish and butter they have literally not once remembered the relish which is supposed to come with the meal in the roughly ten times I have ordered this. This is no big deal I usually just have to go to counter and ask them. It’s on the menu that the poached eggs come with relish. Today they gave my partner a cappuccino instead of the skim flat white she always orders. We told the girl it wasn’t what was ordered and asked if she she could change it. The correct coffee never arrived so I went to the counter to remind them and ask if it could be put in a takeaway cup as we were about to leave. The man behind the counter huffed at me then claimed that my partner had asked for a cappuccino accusing us of lying. Incredibly strange to be accused of lying when we have eaten there almost weekly for months and never once asked for our coffee or meal to be re made. My partner had then had to come in and confer that she knows what coffee she orders everyday and it’s not a cappuccino. I’m pretty sure the guy is the owner and his attitude is pretty lousy for someone in the service industry. I had another instance where I had my two cavoodles tied up outside but because their leads length allowed them to stand partially in the doorway as I ordered he blasted me and then made up a story about receiving a $10,000 fine because of people supposedly like me. He’s got a very strange away of going about things. There’s no $10,000 fine for dogs in cafes particularly for standing at most 30cm in from a doorway. He could have just asked me to tie them up elsewhere without the rant and the story. Don’t think the owner belongs in the service industry. I put up with everything else but after today I won’t be...
Read moreAwesome bakery with some of the tastiest scrolls , vanilla slices and pies and more.... too much to list. The only disappointment was and I was really embarrassed for the younger lady with curly hair.... she could not get two words in without the older English lady ordering her and belittling her in front of me. I was browsing the items available and the older English lady was rushing me.... in the space of 3 minutes she probably asked me 5 times.... " would you like me to ring that up for you now" is that all you want?? . I felt very rushed. The younger girl was awesome... very friendly and was trying to upsell by explaining the delicious goodies on offer also offering me a coffee or chai latter. Every single time she attempted to engage in a conversation with me she was shut down by the elder pommy lady. She would tell her " shush... just go out back and mop the floor or be quiet he doesn't want that... I was shocked. I ended up spending $39.00 where I could have easily spent closer to $100 if I was just left alone and didn't have to witness one worker humiliate another worker... who casually smiled as if it was nothing. It just didn't feel right. I will give this place one more go however if I witness this sort of treatment again , I will not enter this...
