Curry Lovers Westmead — Restaurant in Sydney

Took a friend to this restaurant for dinner and we ordered the vegetarian biriyani. We enjoyed the meal but before we could leave our friend was itching all over her body with ugly red splotches all showing all over her arms. She told us this was an allergic reaction she had if there was MSG in the food. When we asked the staff they said yes they always put MSG in the biriyani and WE should have told them about allergies! Whilst we are accustomed to Chinese and other South Asian restaurants using MSG where we always inquire (because it triggers migraine headaches for my wife too), never have we come across an Indian restaurant that uses MSG having eaten at Indian restaurants all around the world and during 10 weeks of travel in India! Also there was no attempt to put it on the menu or advise people that they use MSG. They put the onus on us to inform them! MSG in our opinion is used by lazy cooks who can’t be bothered using genuine and natural ingredients and take shortcuts with the use of chemicals like MSG with no care for the health and wellbeing of their customers. I can’t fault the food at all. It’s great! But the service is appalling. I already decided I won’t buy rice as they seem to take a long time to make that ( based on previous experience) . I was just passing and quickly wanted to get a curry. I rang the bell on counter that said press for service if no one there. There were two guys in kitchen who clearly saw me but ignored. I waited about 6 minutes when a girl arrived from outside the shop. No apology for delay ( she didn’t know how long I was waiting but she would have known she wasn’t there for past 6 mins at least and known that her colleagues don’t respond to the bell ) She was not at all friendly , when I asked her if the curry I had ordered had bones in it , she initially said no , then said yes.
