Location: 8. Price AUD20 to AUD40/pax (include gst) for 1 adult male and 1 adult female. Expected meal time 1 to 1.5 hours.
Food Order: (1) Special Set Menu for 2 People - Chicken rice + Roasted Chicken, (2) Shredded Beef in Peking Sauce (add AUD 1). Total AUD40.50 (Included 10% discount for cash payment).
Food: Value for quantity as well as decent quality. A pot of tea is served for free as well. The special set menu comes with rice, chicken and another dish which guests can select. The shredded beef in peking sauce is a highly recommended. It was the first crispy beef dish I had ever eaten, with savory and sweet peking sauce. The roasted chicken was also great, very thin yet crispy and delicious chicken skin over chicken meat. Finally, the chicken rice had a light hint of chicken aroma and it was not oily.
Portion: The portion is much more than adequate. If you order the 2 person set menu, it can feed about 3 to 4 adults. The set meal comes with a cylindrical container of rice, which is quite a decent serving of rice.
Indoor Air Conditioning: The air conditioning was cool and comfortable plus our food did not become cold such that it affected the taste and experience while we ate.
Ambience: The interior design looks basic, nothing special to mention. There was no background music as well.
Location: It is located a short distance away from Sydney Central Business District (about 20 mins car ride, 0.5 hours public transport).

Read moreThis place used to be much better but something happened this time I went with my family. I ordered the family set meal with 3 dishes which were sweet and sour pork, shan dong chicken, and beef with black bean sauce. Additionally, we added on a salt and pepper squid.
The first problem was with the salt and pepper squid, which didn’t even have a single piece of salt and pepper, but was instead replaced with chillis, sounding a lot like their shezuan calamari. Later on, when paying, my mum asked if we got the salt and pepper squid and this younger asian guy with glasses said yes. Again, not a single piece of salt or pepper for the alleged salt and pepper squid.
Secondly, the shandong chicken which is usually a nice flavourful and sour sauce has no sour flavour at all and again just had a lot of chillies.
Thirdly, the sweet and sour pork was extremely tough, with some parts unable to even chew through. The sauce was bland and worse than before. Very little sour flavour

Read moreLocal spot for excellent Chinese. The place offers table service and a huge menu filled with different dishes. We went with a local who was a bit brusk when I mentioned “Oh look, they have family meals” and he responded with “This is the whole point.” I can now say that i get it. We went with a nice pot of tea, followed quickly by a soup with potato, carrots, leeks - very nice. Our group of 4 went with a Salt and Pepper Shortrib, Cashew Chicken, and an Eggplant dish, served up with a whole pot of steamed rice and a side of stir fried vegetables. The shortrib was a winner - deep fried pork with a breading that is clearly going to kill you but it’s so good you do not care. The chicken with cashew nuts was the typical dish with a light sauce instead of the typical brown sauce. The nuts were clearly cooked with the dish, not sprinkled on afterwards, which made this very nice. The eggplant had a hint of spice and very tasty but I found it a bit oily. We ate it all and waddled on out of there...
