Dolcetti — Restaurant in Sydney

Excellent pastries, cakes and tarts. Deplorable coffee and worse service. I have been to Dolcetti several times over the past year or two and have never once been greeted with a smile. Sour faces all round. Ordered a latte and got something more resembling a flat white that tasted like dirty dishwater, plus an extra helping of attitude for the privilege. What was even more infuriating was the service the customer after me recieved as I was waiting for the coffee, so rude. I only went into Dolcetti because Carmel's is closed on Tuesdays. Freshly in-house-baked bread and savoury food. One of my favourite cafes in town. Staff are welcoming friendly and greet you with a smile (except for one - I think she forgets to take her doze of morning coffee). Coffee it self is spot on and made on the spot to your request. They open very early and are ready to serve customers as soon as they open. Not much food options but just the right amount. Not ideal for large groups as the Cafe is small but perfect for small meetings or one on one catchup. I drive out of my way to get a flat white from this place. might be my personal palate. Whatever it is, it's nutty, creamy, strong and a kick in the pants. Seems like a sweet note to it, even without sugar. For my personal tastes it does it for me big time. Like an actual satisfying cup of coffee, not oh-what-did-I-just-drink stuff.
