Donut King Lidcombe — Restaurant in Sydney

Went to enjoy a beautiful relaxing coffee today with a lovely friend, with 3min that relaxing time , became a nightmare. Our hearts went out to 2 lovely your girls and have offen served us at Donut king in Lidcome center. The owner stood at the front of the shop and absolutely lashed out at the young girls, calling them names, and constantly abusing her staff of upto 1 hour infront of on looking customers in the centre . The girls were totally embarrassing and redused to tears . We have laws in Australia against Bullying, we have government department's that handle abusive business owners . And we have unfair work laws . Just because you own a business Pease wake up and have a heart, and have respect for your staff, or onday you wont have any. We will never support your business again or go there You are disgraceful....

Absolutely appalled! This is my usual go to for a quick coffee and snack but after today I will not be going back.

I had a very disappointing experience with the disgusting female staff member with the long blue acrylic nails - first of all coughing all over the coffee machine while prepping my coffee, then to my horror began to scrape doughnut batter into the fryer with her fingers and disgusting nails submerged in the batter - no gloves!!

After telling her how disgusting and unhygienic it was she proceed to laugh in my face. I said “it’s funny is it??” And she replied with “yes, it is” smirking and moving on to serve another customer.

Donut king - you should be monitoring hygiene practices and I will be taking this up with management - absolutely disgusting behaviour...

I witnessed the workers working with the bare hands - applying and spreading the donut toppings with their bare fingers. If you’re getting a doughnut here then I’d say stick to the cinnamon donuts only however in reading other reviews it sounds like even this dough is worked into the machine with their bare hands. Disgusting.

Update - The owner has attempted to rationalise the requirement to work with bare hands as the icing is sticky, but I have also witnessed the use of bare hands to shovel the donut mixture...
