The good: Food was great & good value.
The bad: Wait staff & management
Booked to go here for my birthday, arrived at 7:30pm, waitress took 40 mins to take the first round of drink orders, does not mention whatsoever that the bar is due to close at 8:15pm so we’re unable to order a second round. She then tells us very “matter of factly” in extreme detail all the nuance of the Westfield’s lease agreement & details relating to the cleaning contract & attempts to explain how a liquor licence is structured & just very inappropriate detail that we really didn’t need to know or even ask to know. She went on like this back & forth for about half hour which really began to irk all of our guests. Whilst this is happening our entree arrives, waitress tells us to let her know when we are ready for the main only to have a different waitress bring the mains out about a minute later, so we had food stacked on top of food due to lack of space & to make matters even worse they bring out the dessert about 2 mins later & we are forced to stack that on top of the already stacked food, this means we literally have 3 dishes stacked on top of one another and have zero space to actually eat the food. To add to the already annoying situation the waitress would literally not shut up about westfields policy and the lease agreement so I asked her to leave as it was getting beyond a joke and she snapped back that I threatened her & that she wanted to call the police. This really irked the whole table as everyone who was witness to this was just rolling their eyes at her trying to escalate the situation like that. The manager wasn’t much better however she did discount the bill significantly which was the least she could do to compensate our poor dining experience. We didn’t even get to cut the birthday cake and they just dumped it on the table in the box. Basically in close, we had an absolute s**t house dining experience, had our ears talked off by an overly chatty waitress, only managed to get 1 drink in without any warning the bar was closing & had our food rushed out and dumped on our table in a very inappropriate way. Would give zero stars if I could. This place is the complete opposite of El Caminos Sydney city location which has been nothing but great everytime we have been there. My advice: Stay away from this place, find somewhere else or go to the city location instead. You will be left...

I had my 19th here and while the atmosphere and drinks were great I was a bit disappointed about the customer service.
I probably experienced the longest entree of my life at el Camino. I booked the $89 package that included a 3 course meal but the entree itself took more than an hour and my guests had long finished and were ready for the main. I asked about 3 times when the main was coming thinking they had forgotten and every time they said 5 more minutes (it did not take 5 more minutes). After that it seemed like they tried to rush us to finish and for us to get out like I hadn’t asked them about the mains multiple times only to be dismissed.
However, I was most disappointed by how they handled my cake. I had an ice cream cake and asked them to store it in the fridge which they said they would and it was no problem. However, when it was time to cut the cake, it was half melted and falling apart on the table. I didn’t want to complain again so I just asked for a lighter to light my candles and eat it as fast as we can. However that also seemed to prove difficult for them somehow. The waitress disappeared for a while before coming back to ask what a lighter is. I did not bother asking for a knife to cut my cake at that point, we just went at it with our forks and spoons since I knew it would be quicker.
Then the waitress offered my friends and I tequila shots while I stood in front of my melted flop of a cake. I said sure but then she took my phone hostage and said I have to write a 4-5 star review first. So here’s my review guys!!!!!!! Hope u like xoxo
I do recommend this place for a night out. The hats, drinks and food are really fun but I don’t think it’s too great of a party destination. A party with an ice cream cake, much less so. However, I can’t say I...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at El Camino, and I must say, the experience was exceptional — largely due to one standout staff member: Ally. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by her bright smile and welcoming attitude, setting the tone for the entire meal. Ally's professionalism and warmth made me feel like I was visiting a favorite neighborhood spot, even though it was my first time there.
She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations and answering all my questions with ease. I ended up trying one of her suggestions, the street tacos, and they were absolutely delicious! Ally also ensured that I had everything I needed throughout the meal, checking in at just the right moments without being intrusive. It’s clear she’s well-trained and experienced, balancing efficiency with a genuine care for customers.
What really stood out, though, was Ally’s positive energy and friendly demeanor. It wasn’t just the service; it was her ability to make each guest feel like they were the most important person in the room. Even as the restaurant got busier, Ally remained calm, collected, and attentive, which is no small feat. She made me feel like a valued guest and created an overall atmosphere that was comfortable and inviting.
In an era when excellent customer service can feel like a rarity, Ally at El Camino is a true gem. Her outstanding service, paired with the restaurant’s already fantastic food and ambiance, makes it easy to see why I’ll be returning soon. If you’re lucky enough to have Ally take care of you during your visit, know that you’re in for a great experience. Thank you, Ally, for making my meal...
