El Jannah Chicken Gregory Hills — Restaurant in Sydney

I recently visited the Gregory Hill branch with my family for a dine-in experience and I must say, it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. Our encounter with the staff left us feeling frustrated, embarrassed, and completely dissatisfied with the service we received.

Firstly, we ordered a family meal, and to our dismay, the chips were served late. As if that wasn't enough, there was no sign of cutlery or sauce on our table. We were left waiting and wondering if these basic essentials were forgotten or neglected.

In an attempt to resolve the situation, I approached the counter where a short, heighted Indian girl was serving. I politely requested her to provide us with sauce and cutlery since there was none with our chips. Instead of addressing my concern herself, she instructed another staff member to attend to my request.

Thankfully, the other guy brought us some garlic sauce and plates with cutlery. However, the Indian girl suddenly realized that there was an extra sauce given to us. From that moment on, she made it her mission to hover around our table, constantly checking whether we had received one or two sauces. It was beyond intrusive and disruptive to our dining experience.

To make matters worse, she approached our table and interrupted our conversation by loudly declaring, "You got extra sauce!" This unnecessary attention drew the gaze of my guests, leaving me utterly embarrassed. I calmly explained that I had asked for the sauce with the chips, and the guy had provided it, absolving me of any wrongdoing. Despite this, she proceeded to argue with me about the so-called "cheap sauce" without even realizing that I had already purchased both the family meals.

The customer service we experienced at this branch was nothing short of appalling. The Indian girl's focus on a measly sauce and her incessant monitoring of our table were ridiculous and unprofessional. It was evident that she prioritized saving a few pennies over providing a pleasant dining experience for paying customers.

I left the restaurant feeling humiliated and deeply disappointed. I vow never to return to this Gregory Hill branch and will actively discourage others from doing so as well. I recently visited El Jannah, and I have to say, I was really impressed. The grilled chicken here is absolutely delicious! It’s perfectly marinated, tender, and packed with smoky flavors that make every bite amazing. I also loved the generous portions and the variety of sides they offer, like the creamy hummus and their signature garlic sauce—it’s a must-try.

As for the kitchen, I could tell they really care about the quality of their food. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and cooked just right. The kitchen staff definitely knows what they're doing, and it shows in the taste of the food.

The service was also top-notch. The staff were friendly, quick, and efficient. I never had to wait long, whether I was dining in or picking up my order. It’s clear they prioritize making sure customers have a great experience.

Absolutely disgusted with the service. I thought ordering (take away) online would save a lot of time as I live in Bargo.. said my order would be ready 10min from ordering. Then waited an additional 20min only to have a staff member ask me for more money for my order because they were incompetent in getting it correct. I then spoke with the so called “manger” trying to argue why his staff were to incapable of doing their job. He used the excuse that they were “busy” but In fact they were not. They had 3 customers in the shop (including myself) waiting for their order. 1 had just been served and upon my observation only 1 man was doing his job and the other 3 staff members were walking around like headless chooks gas bagging.
