Upon walking into this restaurant, it was aesthetically pleasing, and the ambience was gorgeous.
Waitstaff and on duty management were lovely with good customer service.
Food was below supbar. We ordered three dishes and a side. The garlic cubed beef skewers, kafta skewers, Greek salad with added chicken, and a bowl of fries.
The garlic cubed beef skewers were served on a hotplate with pickled vegetables and chimmichurri sauce. The beef was cold in the centre, was somewhat tough, dry, and the flavour combination of the beef cubes and chimmichurri was not right. I've had chimmichurri countless times, and this was a watery, flavourless mess. I also asked the waitress before ordering the skewers what meat would be used and I was assured that it was the meat they use for their upscale steaks, that it would be wagyu rump, it certainly wasnt. You'd think that since it was on a hot plate the food would be "hot."
The Greek salad with added chicken pieces was just as bad. The chicken had obviously been sitting around and then reheated. The pieces were dried out, chewy and stringy. The actual salad was a concoction of mixed herbs. It had so many mixed herbs that when eating the salad, you were quite literally crunching on the herbs. The herbs are meant to be used in moderation. This certainly was not the case.
The kafta kebabs were also cold in the middle. They were moist but lacked any in-depth flavour. It honestly didn't taste like kafta but sausage meat with a bit of parsley and seasoning. I don't know what meat they used, but it wasn't good.
The fries were okay. They also had mixed herbs atop them, but they were edible. I had about 4-5 fries, then was tired of that herby taste.
I spoke to the manager on duty, and she apologised, removed our untouched plates, and said she would take it off the bill. She then asked if we wanted anything else, and we all said no.
Three failed dishes in one evening were more than enough to satiate our hungry stomachs.
My friend did eat about half her plate because she hadn't eaten that day. However, after about an hour, she was complaining of stomach pain and cramps, as this was the only food she had eaten that day, we have attributed the pain from this restaurant, the beef kafta skewers.
This is a stunningly gorgeous restaurant, great customer service but with unfortunately mediocre food.
I do hope they revamp their menu and do not precook food as it ruins the flavour and texture of the meat being served. The plating needs to be worked on as well.
I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant, nor...
Read moreI’m a regular customer to Elements Brasserie Belmore and Elements Bar & Grill. This is my local restaurant. I’d be hoping the restaurant doing well more than anyone else. However, the service is not up to the level of what it should be or similar to the services in Walsh Bay or Haberfield.
We invited a group of friends to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday at the restaurant. There are some friends who can’t have beef due to religious reason or is vegetarian. The waitress was not helpful when I enquired about lamb or vegetarian options. Her response was she didn’t know any other options cos it’s a steakhouse and wanted us to check the menu ourselves (she seemed not familiar with the menu). I’m okay if you are a new staff..but at least you could’ve asked your colleagues or manager and get back to us, couldn’t you? No she didn’t. I walked to the front near the open kitchen and asked for the kabab menu as I had it last time (there used to be a lamb or chicken option). I was informed the menu had been changed long time ago (which was fine). The lady who worked in the kitchen with hijab added “This is a steak house. You’re expecting to have beef.” This sounded extremely rude to me although I’m a steak lover. I can’t believe they said that to a customer who was enquiring alternative options for the customers who have special dietary requirements. They’re expecting me to say this to my friends? We are happy with seafood options if you don’t offer lamb or chicken in the menu. But at least you can try doing your job and introduce your non-beef dishes to your customers.
My friends came a long way to Belmore to celebrate but because of my recommendation. If you can’t accommodate different needs or answer questions regarding menu, you may loose opportunities to host medium to large groups of customers.
Later on, the waiter named Mahadi (apology if I spelled your name wrong) came to serve us instead of the waitress earlier. He was much more professional and helping us with the cake and photos. Overall, we did have a good experience, thank you!! (I didn’t tell my friends about what I’d heard from the staffs, because I didn’t want to ruin everyone’s mood by those comments. I wish you could improve on staff training so next time, they could respond these type of queries...
Read moreI'm starting with a caveat: I come from a very fortunate position that allowed me to eat in some fabulous restaurants. Saying that we came for the steaks and were not disappointed, we tried the Wagyu, the sirloin and the eye fillet. The eye fillet was more medium than medium rare, but the others were perfectly cooked. The sides struggled to match the quality of the steak. Mash and chips were ok but not outstanding. The sauces were hit and miss. Mushroom was our favourite, and then there was a big jump in the quality of the red wine jus. Then, the pepper sauce and hollandaise were inedible. The salads were a good size, the Rocket salad was well balanced, had a lovely dressing, but the garden salad was pretty basic. The side of the prawns was large, and they were cooked perfectly and deliciously. One random dish we ordered was the chicken parmigiana, which was a molten dish of chicken and cheese that could probably be forgiven if we were at an RSL club, but we weren't, so it was primarily left uneaten, save for dipping the chips in the sauce. We waited 45 minutes for our food, which felt too long when we had an early booking, and the restaurant was relatively empty when we arrived. The atmosphere failed to impress us, with a table lamp that cycled through the colours of the rainbow a play list included bangers from the likes of Justin Beiber and Avril Lavigne and was unnecessarily loud and we were seated in an area that felt like a corridor, lit too brightly, but with a great view of the glass washing. For the price, I would have expected less hit and miss in the food and a more refined atmosphere. P.s. The waitress giving a card with a QR code to review...
