Espresso 96 Concord — Restaurant in Sydney

Wait times far too long if you’re on a table ordering anything more than one meal. We were a party of 4, seated first, ordered first but had our food served last despite ordering the same thing as those who came after us (burgers). Saw that part of our order was sitting on the bench between the kitchen and dining area for a long time so I asked one of the waitresses about our meal and received a very flippant, dismissive reply saying it was coming. She then went to stand at the entrance of the cafe without even bothering to check with the kitchen. I asked again to be served our food and told her I could see half of it was sitting there and again she failed to do anything about it. By the time our meals came out, they were cold. I can only assume there’s some dumb rule around not serving a table until all meals are ready, but how hard is it to make dishes in the order that they were ordered in? Felt like the whole kitchen operation was very disorganised and the wait staff clearly don’t care about customer service, no apology given for waiting over 40 minutes for our meal. Definitely not worth the price for...

The service here is awful and the food here is also not good to taste and even the hot chocolate which cannot go all that wrong is really bad. One Sunday morning we went out with another family with kids for breakfast. After ordering the food they did not bring out one of the dishes and then had to re-order the food again and mentioned that we did not order. We asked for some ketchup for the omelette and never got it at all till the end. There were a few other things that were not right on the day and there were no apologies from the staff and I guess someone who looked like the owner also did not apologise even though he knew things that had gone wrong. Would never recommend this place to anyone and there are several other places on majors bay road for great coffee and breakfast but please...

As a big fan of Thai beef salad, I just had the worst Thai beef @espresso 96 in my life .. not only flavour totally wrong in herbs and salad, their kitchen used rough sandwich steak as their Thai beef ingredient 😠 Their kitchen has no idea what they were doing about this dish is not an under statement. I expressed my frustration but the poor young waitress didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want to give her hard time so I paid the bill and left hungry as simply could not swallow it. I had it packed thinking not to waste food but had to dump it in the bean on the way as simply couldn’t face it. I used to come to this cafe quite often with family and friends.. but witnessed their food quality deteriorated gradually now to the point it is simply unacceptable. I will NEVER go back to this...
