Was recalling I hadn't eaten a good Portuguese style chicken burger in a good decade! Was thinking back to my first bite of an Ogalo burger and enjoying it. Since then never ate any chicken burger as good, or one that in any way resembled the taste. Oporto burgers have always been pretty trash for me. So feeling pretty hungry and craving that particular fix, I got me the original combo meal. I would have got the double fillet burger, but when the waitstaff said they don't add an extra cheese slice with the fillet, I thought maybe the chicken would overpower too much all the other ingredients. Anyways, all very enjoyable. In hindsight I'll probably go back and get the double fillet next time, since the beauty is they add the sauces in front of you to your liking, so even without an extra slice of cheese, it should have enough of a kick. The chicken salt is also added to the chips in front of you, which is great and allows you to take responsibility for the saltiness. Buns although they look big, were pretty light and airy and the chilli mayo wasn't spicy at all (good for me) and chicken was pretty fresh and hot. The burger had almost the amount of zestiness I was particularly looking for, which is good enough! Fries are shoestring and the serving is very generously heaped for a $15 meal, took up half the...
Read morePros: Line moves pretty fast and order was received promptly. Chicken and chips are good enough to come back to again. Bins located outside so able to dispose of waste after eating. Fairly priced, half chicken combo with chips and drink $15, chicken wrap $12 and burger $9.
Cons: burger is very mediocre.
no one wipes the tables down so you're left with the previous person's spilt sauce and whatever grub they didn't wipe up.
no napkins provided on tables. Instead, must go back inside and grab the knife + fork + tissue pack which is a waste of the knife since I only want the tissue and may as well use the fork if I'm going to open the pack anyway
sauce on chips is an extra $2. Frango at Smithfield just have the bottles on the tables and the Bella Vista location just squeeze it on at no extra cost.
no sink for hand washing after demolishing the chicken and chips (available at the Smithfield location)
no in-door dining, strictly outdoor dining which will be extremely lousy in wet weather and on 40+ deg summer days.
others have mentioned service but honestly what do you expect when it is a highschool/uni kid taking your order.
Overall 5/10. Charging for extra sauce on the chips is a deal break followed by no napkins provided. Would only go back...
Read moreWhat a disappointment!
We went looking forward to our first experience, and boy, was it disappointing.
We ordered 1.5 chickens, and at the time of ordering, asked if it was ok to get well-done chickens, all good, no problems.
Then the young girl with the hijab started serving and completely ignored, well done or not, so we politely asked if we could have the well-done chicken we had ordered. She started yelling at the top of her clearly uneducated voice that you can't choose what chicken you get, and then proceeded to literally throw the chicken back into the display, grab the chicken we wanted and slam it onto the cutting board all the while still trying to make her point.
Being a business owner I certainly understand how difficult it is to hire the right staff, but this is beyond ridiculous. Food is not thrown around in that manner, simply disgusting.
I am happy to speak with the owner, but I won't be coming back.
