The 1st time i went last wekend, the service was gracious and the Lamb kabseh especially...just amazing. Good portion sizes as well for thr price.
I then booked for 10 people for my birthday. We ordered the same lamb kabseh and a friend said he would like a larger serve as he wanted to share with his wife. I told him that the portions were decent and the owner said not to worry and he will ensure all the serves will be large. Another friend was vegetarian so the Owner said he can just give her the rice from the kabseh with Tabouleh instead. Not once did he say any implications for prices and made it sound like he was happy to make the adjustment.
The kabseh was nice but was missing all the raisins that was in the serve on the weekend. It was the exact same size as what I had earlier last weekend. However, the prices on the bill changed to $28 for everyone instead of $24 as per the menu, including for my friend who just got the rice. He charged her $28 and added $14 extra for the tabouleh for her. Then he said its all per the menu for large, even though the menu had only 1 price.
I insisted that this size was the same as last time which was off the menu and only 1 person had asked for a large, which wasn't even on the menu, and was the same when served. Also how could he charge for Tabouleh when he replaced it for the lamb! He lied that he gave us large last time because it was my first visit. This was a complete and blatant lie as he didn't know that, and everyone around who had ordered the dish had got the same.
Ethics are highly highly questionable. Food was really nice and we would have all loved to go again, but the man who runs the place is extremely dodgy and unethical. He raised his voice and his demeanour became more aggressive when I questioned him. I have not seen anyone change so fast. A lier and a cheat who is disrespectful to the ethics of running a good business. He does grave injustice to the women preparing the food in the kitchen who do a great job....
Read moreThe iftar spread was a Noble Ramadan experience at the Feast in the middle East, featuring a tantalizing array of traditional dishes that showcased the rich flavors and cultural heritage of the region. From aromatic soups and hearty stews to succulent grilled meats and fragrant rice dishes, each offering was a culinary masterpiece. What truly stood out, however, was the sincerity and dedication of the staff. Despite their own hunger and fatigue, they attended to every detail with care and professionalism, ensuring that we felt welcomed and cherished throughout our meal, not to mention that the elderly were priority. As we broke our fast surrounded by random fellow diners we were reminded of the importance of compassion, empathy during the holy month of Ramadan, even if it means waiting in a line to be fed at a buffet. The affordability of the meal being $45 including meal, drinks, desert & dates included served as a reminder of the need to extend a helping hand to those less fortunate, especially during this sacred month of Ramadan. Much appreciation to the staff at Feast in the...
Read moreI saw the restaurant’s account on Instagram, the post and everything looked amazing. So my husband and I decided to drive all the way from Wollongong to see if the ad meets our expectations, and I’m telling you! It was beyond that.
We ordered one starter and three mains to give it a good try. The portions are huge and generous, the taste is fantastic, and finally, the presentation of each dish is superb. You can tell from one glance that this kitchen cooks food with passion and love.
Finally, the owner was very hospitable and gave me and my husband complimentary sweets for free, which was a nice gesture.
A must-visit in Sydney. I can’t wait to drive all the way again from Wollongong to try their...
