A nice, friendly restaurant we found by accident. It's about 1 large block from Parramatta Rd with lots of parking outside or across the street. We had a small garlic pizza for starters, which arrived with it cut into 20+ pieces and saturated in fresh in garlic, dripping, hot and yummy. It's a great starter. For mains I had calamari, chips and salad, all fresh, cooked on the spot until it was tender but not rubbery or overcooked. My companion chose spaghetti with a cream, garlic sauce. Both meals arrived in jig time and both were delicious.
There were another 10-15 be diners while we were there, and the staff were helpful but not intrusive. They also offer 5-6 different types of pasta to choose from, with any sauce, a few pages of staples like schnitzels, steak, different sauces, fish be and a "specials" menu that changes daily. The chef knows how to create just about every variation of the wide items in the menu. I had a caramel milkshake and my companions coffee was deemed to be above average.
One thing to keep in mind is that as you walk-in the front door, you'll have a desert case directly in front of you. Fresh cakes, slices and more await your eyes, but keep in mind that meals are filling and you won't leave hungry, so make room for the many delights in the desert Barrow if you want to try them.
Dinner for 2, with mains, a starter & drinks ended up being a touch under $60, which seemed cheap given what we were given. It's open 7 days, has its own bakery in-house (which perhaps why the pizza was so good) and makes almost everything from scratch. It seats ~25-30 under Covid conditions, but it's clever internal arrangement makes you feel far few people are on site.
One odd thing as they don't (yet) accept the NSW Govt $25 dine coupon, although the application is submitted it hasn't come through yet. Written 11 April, 2021.
Thats it. A nifty local restaurant that offers a very large menu, quick service and we did notice a few takeaway orders departing while we were there, and there is literally a pub across the road if you need some alcohol. Have a good meal, his is a keeper to...
Read moreCafe Tabouli based in Homebush is serving up delicious food ranging from freshly baked Manoush to dishes that harmoniously combine Asian cuisine and Lebanese cuisine together.
The Spicybouli which is one of Chef Virginia’s Asian twists on Tabouli is now a new favourite of mine as it popped with textures and flavour with a nice heat in the background from the Chilli Oil incorporated into the Tabouli. This is one of her new additions to the menu and it hits your palate in all the right ways.
The various meat-based skewers on offer were cooked to perfection as they were juicy and nicely seasoned. I can imagine the work that @virginiacheong puts in by mincing all the ingredients by hand to create the mixture for the Lamb Kofta Skewers as you can identify the ingredients when you bite into the skewers.
As l have previously tried their Manoush from dining here in the past, I can tell that all their bread-based doughs for the Pita Bread and Manoush are always made fresh in-house so you can expect fluffy yet nicely baked Lebanese bread at Cafe Tabouli.
If you are in the Homebush area, drop by @cafetabouli and partake in a feast that fuses Asian cuisine and Lebanese cuisine together. Massive love to @virginiacheong and her team.

Read moreAs a local I used to frequent this cafe often when it was under former management and known as Cafe 41. Around mid 2019 I attended for lunch now under the new management. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. To the credit of the new manager though she asked how my experience was when I went to pay and I explained where basically everything went wrong. Again, to her credit she offered me a voucher to come back and eat there again to the value of my last order. I appreciated this. It took quite some months for me to want to go back to this place despite living in the same street however everyone deserves a second chance. I have to say the experience I had this second time around was worlds apart from the first. Immediately I was told there would be a wait on any order as they were busy. I was cool with this. This time I ordered at the counter which I found to be a better system given last time I waited 15min for someone to take my order. Our drinks came out in a timely manner and then our food arrived in the time frame we were told. I have to say the meals did look impressive when they hit the table. My partner had the pasta which he thought was nice and I had a burger and chips. Not the best burger I’ve had as the patty was a bit dry but it was still nice. The service was also heaps better with staff actually coming out and asking if they could get us anything else. Well done cafe de Ville! You guys still have a few things to improve on but you have certainly come along way. I...
