I felt adventurous and was craving a good steak and after seeing such high reviews for the Fox & Hounds I was very eager to see what all the fuss was about, and let me say this it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!
Whilst making the booking I was pleasantly surprised to be notified of a 50% off deal for sirloin steak on Wednesdays which seemed way too good to be true.
We were greeted by the exceptionally friendly staff, and after admiring the menu and making the difficult choice of not ordering everything we saw, we chose our two sirloin steaks and brisket loaded fries with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. Shortly after, the owner introduced himself to us, and was one of the most caring and upbeat restaurant owners I have ever met! It turned out the brisket loaded fries were in the process of being replaced with steak loaded fries. Matthew was apologetic about not serving the brisket loaded fries anymore but expressed how he was unhappy with how they turned out, and his process of designing his new steak fries dish which he offered us. I was extremely impressed with his care about the food he serves in his restaurant and was even more excited about the food to come. A short while later Matthew then informed us that the wine we order was out of stock (just our luck!). He was again very apologetic and gave us a recommendation of another beautiful wine and matched the price.
The starter of the cheesy bacon garlic bread was absolutely impeccable the flavors blended so perfectly and there was not too much or too little of anything!
Our steaks and steak loaded fries arrived and I was already taken aback by the beautiful presentation of it all. The steak loaded fries were amazing - the addition of the onion he was telling us about was perfect. then, once I had my first bite of my sirloin steak, it was like biting into butter - it was so tender and the flavor of the chimichurri was magical, every bite was breathtaking.
Overall this was one of the best steaks Iâve had, with the best service. I would highly recommend the Fox...

Read moreUnfortunately really disappointed in the service. Our group was there before anyone else in the restaurant. We were walked around multiple times ignored and not even asked to take our order. After asking twice at the counter to order we were told someone would be out to take it. After over an hour of this we paid our drink bill the girl at the counter couldn't even apologise and left walking past the manager who didn't even say a word.
Friday night we got there at 5:40pm we were sitting just before the toilets on the left against the wall next to a group of about 10 people nearly all in business wear
Edit... I appreciate the time and effort you have taken to respond and be gracious about it. And as much as yes you have acknowledged it, all the rest was full of blah and justification (no offence). I hope it is taken on board. Thankyou for your time, effort and sincerity in this matter also the offer of dinner. But I am unsure if my "200 people" : ) would like to be completely overcompensated after feeling so let down. But I also cannot speak for them only myself. Thankyou again I wish you...
