Abysmal Experience at Frango's Penrith
Rating: 0/5 stars
My visit to Frango's Penrith last night was a disaster. The food overall was downright appalling. The charcoal chicken was served cold, which was the final straw. The atmosphere didn't help either.
But that wasn't the only issue. A 15% surcharge was added to our bill without prior warning or clear display anywhere. We only noticed a small, misleading sign on the register after we'd already ordered.
This added $18 to our bill, which is unacceptable for a standard Saturday evening visit. It's no wonder the store was empty, and it makes sense in hindsight.
The blatant display of greed is staggering. If you're going to charge extra, have the decency to inform customers beforehand. The lack of transparency and respect for customers is appalling.
To top it off, we were charged an additional $2 for sauce on the chips after already paying a $18 surcharge. This is outrageous.
Zero stars isn't enough to rate this place. I'd give it a negative rating if I could. Frango's Penrith is a restaurant to avoid at all costs.
Don't waste your time or money on this overpriced, rundown...
Read moreToday my wife and I went to Frangos for some tasty food, little did we know what we were going to be served up was a large serving of discrimination with a side of segregation. While in line my wife was told to leave as she wasn't wearing a mask, an offer was made to show her exemption though the man cared not and said he can ask to speak to his manager.
At the desk my wife was told to leave the store again but they can take her order outside and she will have to stay there. Meanwhile a number of other patrons were standing around inside waiting for their food and delivery drivers were going in and out.
If you are going to make those with a legal medical clearance to not wear a mask feel less than, break discrimination law and make your own rules then have a backbone and take everyone's orders outside. Why even say "sorry, you're going to have to wait outside" you're not sorry, you made this decision on your own terms, might ask well save the embarrassment for both parties involved and have a sign saying "if you can't wear a mask you're not welcome".

Read moreThis is an fantastic place for something a little different in Sydney (Penrith). Franco's is tucked in off the main drag in the industrial area of downtown Penrith. It has a large ambient seating area indoors and a moderate comfortable seating area outdoors for whichever you prefer. Recommended by a colleague at work,I had lunch here by myself and ordered the Luis Special, a quarter chicken, chips and salad. Chips were nice and hot with just enough chicken salt, but otherwise pretty average. The Tabouli salad was perfect and absolutely amazing! The chicken was tender, cooked Portuguese style with lots of delicious spices! The plate of food was VERY generous, in fact it was very much more of a feast! Wait! What's this? Bread too?? Did I mention that my bill was onlya$15? W-H-H-A-A-A-T??!! The wait staff were friendly and attentive! Everything was clean. Do I really need to emphasize that I really LOVE this place? My...
