Penrith Pies and Pastries — Restaurant in Sydney

I would like to share my experience today at this establishment. I made a purchase and when I got home I found all that I had ordered and paid for was not there. I went back to the store - only ten minutes later, and explained to the staff that an item (apple turn over) had not been included in my original order and I asked if I had left it behind. The staff member denied my having ordered the apple turnover and I reminded her that she asked whether I wanted cream on the turnover, and I said no. This was a lie and this is what caused an incident which involved other customers who had just walked in. I was not prepared to stand there and expect her continual denial that I did not purchase it. Incidentally she gave the turnover to one customer who was at the counter and who walked over and handed it to me. The arrogance and demeanor of the staff member towards me as a paying customer I found disgusting, and if she remains employed at this establishment I can no longer recommend this shop to anyone in the future. Can’t speak for the food but was very thrown back by the service I received this morning. It was the first time I’ve come in to get a coffee, the lady forgot to add my syrup so I asked her for it and she put it on the till for me to pay, she wanted cash so I went all the way back to my car to source 70 cents, only had 50 cents so I came back offering to pay card or if she wanted the 50 cents because that’s all I could find. She then proceeded to tell me she wanted the 50cents and I needed to come back with the 20 cents because I owed her. She told me I should’ve told her I wanted syrup but I I told her I did come in an order an oat vanilla latte so I think she must’ve not heard me but she never relayed my order or anything. I’m just really disappointed with the treatment of the situation I was apologetic even though I knew I ordered the right thing and I’m all for paying for the extras I add into my order but I felt that I received no customer service or kindness whatsoever.

As a Celiac, I was very pleased to read of this place and made the long drive out there. I was not disappointed

Huge selection of frozen GF foods and the lady there had my pre-ordered foods ready when I arrived

Whilst I haven't yet tried most of what I purchased, I did eat the Gf sausage roll and it was far better than I expected (delicious and pastry fabulous - which is very hard to find in GF options)

Friendly and very helpful lady behind the counter and the young man working was so kind as to help my elderly aunt up from her seat when he saw she was struggling
