Disgusting way to treat your staff.
After witnessing the woman in charge on Sunday 5 June 2022 scream at her colleague and slam the order paper down on the counter, I walked away before buying anything. This was after she had practically ignored me instead of taking my order, instead mucking about with something else and telling someone else to serve me - possibly the same girl she yelled at. In the time she took to yell at this employee, she could have taken my order. Instead of going "READ!" and slamming the paper and grunting, she could have taken our order and been a decent human being. But I guess she chose instead to be a nightmare human with no respect for others.
I have been a manager for YEARS in customer service, and you basically NEVER have a reason to yell at your team, unless there is an emergency. You definitely don't need to yell about a silly mistake, or not understanding what the order was for. I won't be supporting this café again unless this woman is gone. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen. They weren't exactly run off their feet - I know, I've worked Christmas in retail, and this was NOTHING to get worked up about.
What a shame it's not the same cool pickup truck café it used to be. I knew that was going to be a bad sign. The one star is for the fond memories I have of when the staff there were laid back and chill, and getting food and coffee there was a pleasure. Those days...

Its 8:50am on a weekday.
Finally after noticing I was there, the lady took an order off one of the ladies. Then started making her piccolo.
Then another lady walked up announced her child's birthday.
For a few years I would visit my customer next door Repco, and always grab a coffee here fortnightly, but the last visit was over a year ago.
Note, Ive worked in Penrith for over 30 years, and if you want the traditional Penrith charm, head into Able street or York.
And to the lady working, if you don't read this message, and acknowledge being a barista is about engaging every set of eyes in front of you, hospitality is...
Read more1:55pm 9/08/2025 - The service from the young girl with red hair and extremely long nails is beyond poor, she rolled her eyes when asked to serve as the other girl was super busy making others orders, she insisted on eating her chips whilst making banana bread for another customer. Then when and elderly customer came to order she said “what do you want again, I forgot” in an extremely rude tone. Unfortunately you’d expect a little bit more, her attitude and manner is atrocious. Other staff were great and continued telling her to quiet down as she was acting...
