Frango Smithfield — Restaurant in Sydney

This business has to be one of the biggest disappointments I've had in such a long time. And I've been a returning customer for years. So it's sad that I'd be writing this.

They've truly lost any sort of family owned business it had left in them to just money hungry average charcoal chicken shop.

The staff there look like the Business owners are whipping them with sticks.

And I think I want to list my experience today in some form of a time line from the moment I walked in until I walked out

I remember as a customer i would come in and have a seat and be given a menu from the lovely staff to be able to make our selections. What baffled me is well what if you got up and wanted to order and another customer just sits right down at your table, is this some sort of too bad so sad you missed out scenario you have going on. And guess what?, It happened.

I understand times have changed so I kindly stood around and stared at the menu options up overhead till I was ready to order. Found myself another table and sat.. now here I thought something of the rather where they would come out with some olives and bread like they used too.. you know something to nibble on before your order arrived. Yeah guess what Nah... They don't bother offering that because you know half a dozen olives might hurt their pocket.

So now our food was ready... Here I am assuming the staff would bring it out to you.. Yep guess what?... Nope they just stand behind the counter in an already loud store yelling your number and tossing it on the counter like it's a bunch of slop for pigs to come get.

Moving on.... Here I am enjoying my food and realise I'd like some sauce with my food... I assumed like those previous days also the squeeze bottle with one mayo and one chilli would be given to you. Yep guess what?... Nope you have to get up and go back to the counter to ask for sauce... This is the amazing part about it.. I asked for three medium containers 1x chilli, 1x Mayo 1x Mayo/Chilli Mix.... They charged you $17.00 For those 3 little containers... That's literally A whole new meal from the menu if you wanted... And that's where I mentally drew the line and thought to myself yep it's settled for...

The owners just are money hungry, greedy, profit maximizing below average franchised chicken shop.

This is the last time I see me self returning to the store and sadly I'd be sharing my experience with other foodies out There who upload their experiences.

Do your self a favour guys it's not worth it anymore pick out another place for your next...

Unfortunately I have had to rewrite this review because Frangos has definitely gone down hill.

Customer service - we used to have a friendly chat with the old staff and they used to ask us how the food was - there is no customer service that you can write home about. Most staff are rude and don’t listen to your order - we asked for dine in and our order took 25 minutes to receive and they called our number to pick up the order. 1/5

I am sure they are not marinating the chicken in the marinade they used to use prior covid - it doesn’t have that umami flavour. 3/5

Their chips on three occasions have had to be returned because they were either over cooked, cold or sitting there going stale - 1/5

Uber orders seem to take priority because the lazy people at home can’t be bothered leaving their house because they are grossly overweight and won’t fit through the doors or they are just hypochondriac. 1/5

Very sad this place went downhill. This was a place we thought would be consistent in service and food but all of that has been replaced with greedy franchisees who give the bare minimum and still expect people to pay high prices.

Their tabouleh is inconsistently made and they used to serve bread with olives while you waited for your meal. 1/5

This is now one of those places that you now visit after you have had a big night on the piss and have lost your tastebuds

Not coming back here again....

I ordered $130 worth of food here via Uber. It showed up with 5 missing sauces and a missing coleslaw. Not to mention the fact that the Greek salad (that actually came) and 2 sauces I did get, ended up in the hot food bag. I called the restaurant to ask what happened, the lady I spoke to responded saying she packed my order and definitely put the coleslaw and sauces in the bag. I tried to explain to her that it was not there. She kept repeating that it was there and that I had to contact Uber it was there fault. The Greek salad and two sauces came in the hot food bag that was stabled together. The Uber driver could not have possibly ripped the bag open as it was perfectly intact and if he did as you suggest he did WHY STEAL 5 SAUCES and a COLESLAW? it doesn’t make sense. I paid to eat dry bread and chicken as the burgers had no sauce to go with them. I’ll never order from you again and also just an FYI you should employ staff that have customer...
