GR8 Spot CAFE — Restaurant in Sydney

I stopped by around 8:15am on a Tuesday and was disappointed to find only two empanadas left. The staff member kindly offered to make more, but with a 15-minute wait, it’s not ideal if you’re grabbing something quickly on the way to work.

The service felt a bit cold and unwelcoming perhaps the lady servinh just a rough start to the morning.

I ended up getting two empanadas and an alfajor. Taste-wise, everything was excellent. The alfajor, in particular, was absolutely outstanding, possibly one of the best I’ve ever had.

Unfortunately, I did find a hair baked into one of the empanadas, which really put me off.

The food, service and vibe were all average. The empanadas they served were frozen so they took about a half hour to cook, and that was the only “Latin American” food they had on the menu. They have a few Latin American items for sale like mate, but otherwise not much.

There was only one girl working so she was super busy, and she could have used an extra hand so everything took a while. The smoothie also tasted like it was from concentrate or previously prepared...

I visited the GR8 Spot Cafe for a quick chat with a friend. The staff were super friendly with lots of smiles. The front counter display was full of yummy looking food and desserts and they had an amazing selection of specialty teas on display from a brand called Totaler.
