Poor experience overall unfortunately, I was looking forward to trying this place. I’m surprised that the reviews are so good. No clear ‘wait here’ area so we checked in with the QR code and went inside, but were then shooed out by one of the staff members who looked irritated with us for not knowing the system. Booked in advance but was put on a table basically outside in the back patio area, right in the doorway so we had staff coming past quickly all night with food and various bits of moving furniture. Food was inauthentic, really poor quality cheap cheese and meat on the pizza, tasted artificial. The pasta we ordered was over-cooked and under seasoned leaving it a little bland and difficult to finish. We didn’t stay for dessert (and we normally would) and went somewhere else just for dessert instead. When paying, you have to awkwardly stand at the side of the kitchen to pay when you’re essentially leaning over someone else’s table to reach the card machine, and you’re surrounded by people trying to eat or put out food. It’s a shame because I know with Covid things have been tough, and the staff were obviously run off their feet, but it feels like the owners tried to cram in too many tables into a small space, sacrificing comfort, atmosphere (and safety during a pandemic) and like the chefs have let stuff slide that they wouldn’t usually...
Read moreMama & Papas is an absolute gem in the heart of the city. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the tone for a memorable dining experience. The décor is charming, with rustic touches and a cozy ambiance that instantly makes you feel at home.
The menu is a delightful journey through authentic Italian cuisine. Every dish is crafted with care, using fresh, high-quality ingredients that burst with flavor. The pasta is homemade, with a perfect al dente texture, and the sauces are rich and aromatic. I highly recommend the Fettuccine Alfredo and the Margherita Pizza – both are simply divine.
The wine list is extensive, featuring a wonderful selection of Italian wines that perfectly complement the dishes. The staff is knowledgeable and more than happy to help you choose the perfect pairing for your meal.

Read moreWe went there after the movies about 6'30 the place is very busy. Good sign. We sit down and get a bottle of iced water ,nice. The menus are already in front you, good. So we want to order, the young boy (waiter) comes over "Yes Brother" ok I am not impressed, what is it with the attitude of serving staff? My friend who is Asian thought it amusing ( he was the one addressed as Brother) We order, the menu is nice and has good choices. First course is Salmon Pate at $16.00( let' round up the prices) my friend has the Seafood Casserole, nice and tasty but for $40.00 and 1 prawn ,3 mussels and a scallop or 2 and a bit of fish ok not to bad. I ordered the milk fed saltimbocca veal, I think I am correct by saying there is no milk fed veal in Australia the closes you get is yearling. It was served with fresh vegetables nicely steamed. The size of the veal was enough for me. The bill $85.00 not cheap for 1 entre' and 2 mains but ok then there is a 2% surcharge paying by card. For that sort of money you charge you can afford to absorb that charge from your bank which I think is less then 2%. Rip off, no but give it a thought and improve the service regarding greetings, not every day is a...
