Finally visited here after countless days of walking past it. It was a pretty good experience, but nothing extraordinary to say the least.
We were quickly greeted and given a table after signing in to the venue. It seemed to be a tight cozy spot for the local people, as there were a few tables with only coffee on it, and also lots of chatter. We were taken upstairs since the bottom floor was full, and i had absolutely no clue that there was even a second level. The second floor was pretty average looking, though there were some nice window seats overlooking the most of the spot. It was a pretty cool vantage point the more i think about it.
Anyways, we sat right nezt to the window and looked through the menu as we were given some water to drink. It was also a pretty windy day today, so the menus were flying around. The waitress had told us a story where it nearly fell out and she grabbed the menus in the nick of time. We were then asked for drinks, and i had the nutella hot chocolate and my partner had the almond milk coffee, which was a new experience for her. She was apparently not a big fan of the almond milk, it was just an average coffee to her, with a unique almond taste. The nutella hot chocolate however, was pretty nice. It was essentially jist a hot chocolate with nutella drizzled over the glass of the cup before they out any of the contents in, but it made it taste pretty darn nice. The sweetness wasnt really dominated by either chocolate flavours, they both had blended together to give a nice sweet taste of both.
We ordered a double crepe for both of us, the belgian chocolate one for me, and a butter sugar and lemon one for my partner. Unfortunately, i had expected something else when it came to the chocolate. It was still nice though, but i didnt expect it to be dark chocolate. I felt like the dark chocolate had tasted a bit cheap even though it was quite rich in flavour, and that the taste overpowered the crepe too much where all i could generally taste was the chocolate. I still finished it though. My partner said that her crepes were yummy and had too much lemon flavours on it.
After finishing our meal we went to pay and was asked for a tip. Not that we are cheap or anything, but the menu prices here.... bruh..... they are well above any other dessert store prices in terms of portions. The food had barely filled us up tbh. We asked the waitress about their tipping system and apparently tips are distributed equally amongst all staff members. We decided to tip them $3, but i would have much rather tipped personally, especially in australia where there isnt really a tipping culture since everyone is probably getting paid more than i am.
All in all, id come here again for a more special occasion say, or maybe just a drink. The crepes are really pricey, but are...
Read moreEDIT: The owner has responded and I would like to respond to their edit to clear up a few misconceptions. We appreciate the apology, however, my sister and I were NEVER asked to move our dog. I asked the young woman serving us if it was okay to have him there, and she said 'Yes, I love dogs!" and even gave him a pet. Never did anyone ask us to move him. Every single customer that walked by him was petting him. If we were asked to move him, we would have without complaint, hence why I actually asked the waitress if he was okay being there. Secondly, no exception was made for my mother as the owner's response suggests. The man who served us told her that he would refuse her business if she ever returned, all because of one Diet Coke. That doesn't sound like making an exception to me. We were both made to feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.

I agree with all the other reviews saying the management is extremely poor. The food is decent, average coffee but not the worst I've had. But the customer service is beyond awful. I cannot fathom how some people who rely on customers for business, can have the audacity to treat them with such disdain. I'd been here once before, whereby a man gave my sister and I dirty looks and kept glaring rudely at our dog, who was tied up outside. Today I went with my mother. The same man served us, who I believe to be the manager, and was abrupt, arrogant, and everything the French are stereotyped to be. I've been to France and experienced rude customer service, but this was on another level. Halfway through our meal, he interrupted us and said in a patronising tone "This cafe is not BYO." I was confused as we didn't have any alcohol with us. It took me several moments to realise he was referring to my mum's Diet Coke. We have never had any issues at any other cafe when my mum has a Diet Coke with her. It's her favourite drink, and most places we have been to only offer Coke Zero or normal. We paused for a moment, confused, and he looked at me and in an extremely condescending tone said "BYO. do you know what that even means?" My mum and I were in shock. When mum got up to pay, she said "BYO usually refers to alcohol. All I had was a Diet Coke." He repeated himself, saying the cafe isn't BYO. My mother said she would not be giving them business again due to the hostile treatment. He said "I would refuse you if you ever came back." Absolutely disgusting, all because of a single Diet Coke. We were paying customers, who have lived here for years, and have never been so disgusted at...
Read moreI’m writing to express my disappointment following a visit to your café today, where we had a very poor experience due to a series of service mishaps.
During our visit, a waitress accidentally spilled red wine all over our table. While she was apologetic, the situation was not handled appropriately. We were only given a few tissues to clean up ourselves. Our coffees ended up mixed with wine, and my friend's pants were stained. No staff member followed up to offer any assistance, replacement drinks, or help with the stained clothing.
To make matters worse, I had to walk up to the counter myself to ask for more tissues, wet wipes, and to request replacement coffees. Even then, the replacement drinks were delayed because the staff appeared to be engaged in conversation and had forgotten about them. I had to return again to check on the status.
Adding to the frustration, the same staff member who spilled the wine dropped a fork on my friend’s clothes while attempting to tidy the table. The entire experience gave the impression that customer care and attentiveness are not a priority for your team.
Unfortunately, this visit has left a very negative impression, and we won’t be returning. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and consider providing better customer service training to your staff to prevent similar incidents...
