Husband booked a table for 4 at 7pm. Show up at 7, they’ve given our table away and ask us to sit in a dark corner where people waiting for takeaways. We wait for a table instead, they were very apologetic and we did get a table in ten minutes. Although the guy running the place did then tell us ā€œreservations can’t be guaranteedā€ (never heard that before at a restaurant for a Saturday evening sitting).

Order food... waited an hour and ten minutes before deciding to pay for our drinks and just leave without eating. Felt sorry for the two waitresses working as there was literally only two of them (no separate bar staff) for such a big place, they were constantly being complained to (other people complaining they had waited over an hour for their meals). Sat with a view of the kitchen watching the microwave constantly being opened and closed. Whilst watching different Uber eats/Deliveroo drivers come and go with food.

Wanted to try this place as is round the corner from where we live, was new, decided to ignore the bad reviews from where they were based before. Turns out the service IS just as bad as these reviews say, didn’t even get to try to food and most certainly won’t be going back. Very rarely take the time to leave reviews but felt such a bad experience warranted a review. More staff seems like a clear solution, obviously greed...

The food was quite good, but the service was...shockingly bad. I went at about 8 pm on a weeknight with a friend, and we each ordered a main course. We also wanted one order of naan and one order of rice, and our server told us that we would be charged double for the rice, even if we ordered only one order and even if only one of us ate the rice - because there were two of us sitting at the table. I said that seemed to be a strange policy, and I reiterated that we wanted only one order of rice for myself (listed as "$3 per person" on the menu and the waiter grew visibly and unnecessarily angry and agitated and said that even if we ordered only the single order of rice, we would be charged $6 for it). Needless to say, we did not order any rice. We ordered 2 different types of naan (which they did not charge us double for). It's July, and the weather was quite chilly the night we went, and I noticed that as soon as we had finished our (rather meager) mains, the reverse cycle heater located right above us began blasting cold air. Clearly they wanted us to leave ASAP. We'd been there approximately 40 minutes. It's a shame...the food was good, albeit small portion sizes, but the service made me so uncomfortable I don't think...

Awful customer service. I ordered for pickup and arrived 5 minutes after it said the order was ready. It took me 10 minutes to get someone's attention at the pick up hatch, only to be barked at and told to wait 10 more minutes... despite the order saying it's ready. So I did. I waited another 10 minutes. And another. And another. In total I waited 50(!) minutes before I decided to give up and cancel the order.

I feel sorry for the 5 delivery drivers who were waiting too. If the restaurant had communicated the wait time with them perhaps they could've moved on to another job instead of losing money waiting endlessly there.

We felt ignored. The staff were rude and didn't care. And there was no attempt to ever give us an accurate ETA.

You must do better. Yes, restaurants get busy sometimes, but you have to communicate with people rather than leaving them outside for an hour and ignoring them! I would've been fine with coming back later if I had been told how long the wait would be.

Awful, awful service....

LOVE this restaurants food. Family business since the 80's, now right next to The Ritz Cinema so dinner and movie! Looks like they've had a very cool interior designer through with a MASSIVE window to sit at a luxurious wide wooden bench. Great vibes here and soon to open for lunch with some new dishes including my favourites served on Wigram St Parramatta, AKA Little India. Oh, try those little ball thingies, you fill them with a scrumptious juice and they explode in your mouth as the balls are crunchy šŸ’• Also, really

Food is divine! Best dining experience by far for Indian restaurant at The Spot. We were greeted warmly with smile from waiting staff. Always makes a positive impression especially if it is your first time. The atmosphere is welcoming. Well set tables, clean floors, organised, attentional to detail and very clean WC. Clear signs of good management, professionalism and reliable staff. Noise level is low. Keep up with your high standards and kudos to a friendly and welcoming staff.

Worst ā€˜Indian’ food I’ve tried. Tasted like cardboard. Couldn’t eat the prawn curry so disgusting so binned it. Pompadons, samosas same. Having lived and worked in UK and know Indian friends with restaurants this is the worst experience and all for over $100 Owner then replied below with a poor attempt to diffuse the review by questioning the price asking for details and number which I provided. Of course I’ve not heard anything back!
