Yes this place has great food. And the staff greet you real well. But so so HATE that you ask for a table and your lead to it & given the menus, but then they say to you, that you need to order at the counter. Huh!
So, you then must line up to make your order, when you have in effect already been waiting really, you have walked in, and have looked at the menu decided on what you want and just want to order it! Thats how all other cafes and restaurants work! What has happened to good old fashioned basic service these days.
Yesterday while waiting in line, (after being taken to our table) to make the order, there were staff who could have taken our order, as they were just walking around or idling around, picking up a dustpan and putting it down, another was walking around the girl on the register moving this and that, just trying to find something to do, to look busy. And it wasn't busy! So one of them could have taken our order! Again I ask where has good old fashioned basic service gone?
When a customer in front of me was not ready & asked for a menu to look at, and he want to order take away, I asked if I could order while he does that, as it was obvious we were going to wait till he makes up his mind. But then another lady who was looking at the cakes, got a bit upset, & I noticed, so I explained my husband & I came in earlier, but had sat on the table to make our selections, so said to her go ahead, she said I know what I want to order wont take long. And she didnt take long.
After that customer finished, I was given a table number for my order and I had asked for 2 chicken burgers, the other customer who was not ready, apparently was just that second ready & started asking for his order and the girl at the counter said sorry I must take his order before yours and did so! That was it for me!
I had walked in before he did, and before any of the other 4 that had made orders, and I felt I can't do this, as this happens all the time we come to grain'd and it can't, its not right.
So I signalled to my husband to come over, and we walked out. I didn't feel comfortable after that. No more! I wont accept it. I am done. Good old fashioned basic service is gone so am I.
I found that whole scenario unfair! There must be some kind of consideration for the ones who walk in & ask for a table, these kind of customers do not crowd the counter, but go and make their choice on the table, so either they should be able to make their order without waiting or just get another register for eat in's! Or allow us to order at the table, like normal. You did this before! What happened! Why is good old fashioned basic service going downhill! Why are the girls walking around doing nothing, when they can take our order!
Not fair to expect a customer who has already walked in, asked for a table to make their selections and then go back wait in line to order at the counter. No!..not right or fair. Why have tables at all! There are great cafes that take my order at the table and I do not feel uncomfortable. They will get my patronage &...
Read moreSo me and my friends went in to have some lunch. We were faced with this blonde chick the owners wife and she was giving us a dirty look from the time we went in to the time we left. Why l dont know but we all had the feeling she just wanted us to leave so she can close up the shop and leave early. Next comes the food. Well l ordered the avocado sour dough plate and it was so soggy and so plain no taste no flavour at all was a waste of money. The rest of the food was not as bad but also not the best and not really worth the money we paid. While we were eating they started packing up putting the chairs up closing up the shop we felt so uncomfortable as if they wanted us to leave. If they want to close the shop at a certain time they should at least tell the customer's we will be closing in 15 minutes or whatever time we can serve you food but we do need to close or we are sorry but the kitchen is closed but we are happy to serve some drinks. The owner (male owner) he was amazing had the most amazing smile. Would l go...
Read moreI recently visited this café for brunch with three friends, and while the parking was convenient with plenty of spots available, the experience inside was disappointing.
First, the seating arrangements are incredibly cramped, with tables too close together, making it uncomfortable to enjoy a meal. For the price of $120 for three people, I expected better service. We had to order at the counter and then fetch our own cutlery and coffee, which felt like poor value for money.
The biggest letdown was the so-called “bacon” on the menu. It’s clearly not traditional bacon, and while I understand the effort to cater to different dietary preferences, it’s misleading to advertise it as such. Some of us still appreciate real bacon for breakfast.
The staff were a mixed bag. The older gentleman at the cashier was friendly, but the waitress on the floor was quite the opposite, making the overall atmosphere less enjoyable.
For the price and the service, I won’t be...
