Grand Lotus — Restaurant in Sydney

This is my first time ever writing a review. As i understand it can affect a lot of restaurants but I couldn’t help myself after vomiting all the food I ate here tonight.

First things first we walk in and get seated I realised their bowls had hair and dirt and asked them to replace them. Then we order 3 main meals only to be informed after 30mins of waiting that they didn’t have 1 of the dishes available for the night. So we understand maybe they’ve just ran out but only to come back another 15mins and tell us that our second meal was also not available.

It’s now been 45mins and still haven’t got any food we’ve ordered aside from the entree.

Finally after an hour of waiting, our food comes only to see find that the crispy chicken we ordered was not so crispy at all but just dry and stale and the Mongolian beef we ordered was sweeter than sugar. It was too SWEET..

Told the restaurant manager and didn’t blink an eye about it and just continue to ignore us.

We then get home after paying $111.00 just for my partner and I to vomit everything out. And this is not me being extra, not a great experience and will not be coming...

Came to pick up my online order 5 minutes after the said time to collect when the order was placed. When I got there the lady in the counter said “it shouldn’t take too long”. I followed it up twice only to be told “it’s not going to be ready for a few more minutes. I ended up waiting for 25 minutes. Obviously I was irate by this time as I felt like the lady totally lied to my face when I arrived there. She apologised and then proceeded to tell me that “normally the app would send a text to tell me when the order is ready...”. I felt confused as to why she needed to say this like she was suggesting it was my fault for coming to pick up my order on the said time it told me to pick it up. I simple apology would have sufficed. I would have taken it and be done with it. So I turned my back at her and I heard her say arrogantly “seee ya!!!” Such a disappointing experience and it has certainly left a sour taste...

Definitely not coming back here. They're yum cha is so overpriced! Everything is pretty much XL up. Food was average, serving was little and not at all appetising when served.

I've eaten in so many yum cha places but this is by far the worse place I've tried. It's not worth the amount we've paid honestly. We are a party of 8- 3 adults and 5 kids. Kids didn't even eat at all, even they didn't like the food they normally eat whenever we have yum cha. So really just 3 adults eating and our bill was unbelievable when there weren't even much food.

I regret we ended at this place for lunch as we could've eaten somewhere else worth our money! I don't recommend this place and ai'd stay away. There's other good restaurants around and this is defs not one of them.

But the service was ok, atleast 1 of them is very attentive of us. That's the only good...
