This has to be the greatest tapas restaurant in Sydney, and my wife and I try a lot of them. This has become our absolute favourite restaurant on mainland Australia, there are so many great dishes, even the simplest will surprise. Must try as many as possible. This is only a small restaurant just down the strip from lusso Italian. If you have never tried it or unsure where to go, this is an absolute must try, the only thing that surprises me with this place is how cheap it is for the amazing quality that they do, the staff are very attentive and are great. Whenever I do a review I am always looking for the negative and the only negative with this place is that due to the quality of food, service (and great red sangria) I always end up leaving a healthy tip. Maybe due to the fact that I feel as though a great meal for 2 with drinks and great service should cost more than 100 dollars, which it would be if I didn't always leave a nice gratuity. Keep up the amazing work, in the many years we have been attending, we have never been...
Read moreWe ordered the eggplant ragu dish, najlas pastrys, fried cauliflower, chilli mayo chips and the duck breast.
Firstly, pastrys came out as a reheated dish from the microwave. Not a good start. Returned the dish and not charged.
The cauliflower was good, but personally, they can do better with this dish with better presentation and more egg wash.
The eggplant dish was terrible, no seasoning and no flavour. There needs to be more spices and herbs and again, not a reheated dish from the microwave. Shame.
The duck breast was over cooked and swimming in sweet soy sauce. It was accompanied by string beans which had no presentation, just cooked and side to the duck. Take more care with this and could be a great dish.
Chips were sub standard, can get better from the local chicken and chip shop.
I'm sorry to write such a terrible review, but the hype was way too high and the food was to match.
The service was great. Waitresses and waiters were great. Service was fast and efficient. But first visit here will also...
Read moreFirst time here and really enjoyed the overall experience. Being a cold evening we sat outside regardless and stayed warm under the heaters. Quite a bit of seating inside despite looking like a small venue. Had a few tapas to start. Zucchini flowers were a hit for me. Family loved the salt and pepper squid which was light in batter which went down nicely in size. Although more of a fusion menu, the flavours didn’t disappoint. It was a full house, but everything came out reasonably fast. For mains I had the lamb cutlets. Grilled but no special flavours which I actually liked. Accompanied with sweet potato fries and green beans. Side of ren wine jus which I didn’t particularly take to. A little heavy and thick. It probably didn’t reduce down to a nice consistency which would’ve really lifted the dish. Wife had the grilled salmon which was a tad overcooked. The salad that accompanied this made up for it.Staff are friendly and plenty of free parking during the evening. Can’t wait to try a few other dishes on...
