Thai Splendid — Restaurant in Sydney

If I could give it a zero I would, I like to start off saying I don't review places at all, but untill this experience, I had too let people know. I use to come here alot but the new staff have no idea what customer service is.

To start it off, the staff knocked the table number off the table next to us, she picked it up and slammed it on our table thinking we dropped it and stormed off, with out realising the table already had a table number on it. So I just moved it to the next table 😂.

Secondly when they were clearing our entree they dropped cutlery out of my plate near my foot causing it to splash food on to my trousers and shoes. At this point, I let all these go, as I knew what it is like to be a waiter. But an apology would have been nice, rather than a mere smug and a frustrated look.

To top it off with a cherry well in this case bugs, my friend found a bug in her pad see yew, which they were nice enough to give us a refund, however when I went to pay cash I walked away noticing they charged me extra for card usage fee, when I was paying with cash!

Did not want to bother with the amount but it's the principle of the matter, and I'm a person that normally gives tips, this case given what's happened Soo far, I asked for a refund, and the staff looked at me like I'm crazy and started to argue about it.

So I gave up paid the bill and walked away never again will I come here. I feel sick...

The lunch menu was a rip off and the food gave us all stomach issues.

Two people in the group ordered pork belly + rice and they gave us only 5 of the smallest pieces of pork I've ever seen. Everyone else had a huge serving of their protein. When I asked why there was such a difference in serving size they said it's always been like that. I said if you're only serving such a small amount of protein it should be in the menu because it's not worth it. That's not the worst bit, she said don't worry I'll take 15% off the pork meals. But they ripped us off and didn't take the whole discount off, we paid cash so we should've gotten an extra 5% as well making it 20% for the pork meals and 5% off for the rest. So basically she short changed us on purpose.

I realised this only afterwards, which was my fault but in my defence I and my entire party ended up in the toilet the rest of the day because the food didn't sit well with us.

Thai Splendid offers a delightful dining experience with fresh, flavorful food and a welcoming atmosphere. Our visit was for a birthday celebration, and while we did experience a delay in getting our table set up, the staff’s friendliness and attentiveness more than made up for it. Despite the apparent understaffing, they handled the busy evening with grace.

I ordered the Tom Yum soup, which arrived hot. However, since I wanted to enjoy it with my fried rice, it went cold while I waited. The staff promptly brought me a new, hot serving timed perfectly with my fried rice and apologized for the inconvenience. Their responsiveness and willingness to correct the mistake quickly were impressive.

Overall, the food was delicious, and the staff’s warm demeanor added to the positive experience. Thai Splendid is definitely a great choice for a tasty meal, even...
