Usually the salads from Lane Cove are excellent, however today, we had a very poor experience. After ordering our Asian Queen Salads with prawns I was waiting at the front of the shop and witnessed one of the staff come to the front of the counter to collect some take away lids. She accidentally knocked them on to the floor and proceeded to gather them all up. I assumed they were headed for the bin but was quite shocked when she took them to the food prep area and put them on the shelf to use. I was told that my salad would have to be remade as the same staff member had accidentally added fried garlic to my salad even though I had advised of my allergy. I watched as one of the dirty lids from the floor was about to be placed on my partners salad and told the staff that I wanted a clean lid as the ones on the shelf had been retrieved from the floor. There was no apology, in fact the staff member responsible looked clearly annoyed at my request. We took the salads to the beach for a picnic and were extremely disappointed with them. They were each missing varying ingredients that are usually included:
My one had no papaya, peanuts or mint My partners one had no papaya, pineapple or mint. Both salads were actually very bland. Even the tamarind chilli sauce which I usually have because it contains no garlic, tasted watery.
We will give benefit of the doubt and hope this disappointing experience was a one off but the issue with the lids has left us wondering if the same procedure would apply if this staff member accidentally dropped food on the ground?
Happy to further discuss if the manager would like...
Read moreI usually enjoy visiting Greenhouse Salads for their fresh, tasty salad options - it’s what they do best, and they do it well. However, I recently decided to try one of their iced matcha drinks after seeing it promoted in-store, and I have to say it was the most disappointing iced matcha I’ve ever had.
The small iced matcha was like drinking straight milk, and had almost no matcha flavour at all. It was completely lacking the richness and bitterness that you expect from a quality matcha. Given I ordered the almond milk flavour and paid $11 for it, I expected a much better experience. It honestly felt like a waste. I’ve had incredible matcha in the CBD for $8.
I’ve included photos in my review to show just how pale and diluted the drink looked after mixing it - a clear indication of quality of ingredients.
To be fair, their salads are great, and I’ve tried their laksa before which was decent too. But when it comes to the matcha drinks, understand they tried to capitalise on the trend at the moment, but I would strongly recommend that you...
Read moreAppalling!! A group of five of us ordered lunch from here - When the order was delivered, we received only one item. Fair enough - mistakes happen. However, when we called up the business, the way the staffmember managing the call conducted himself was absolutely appalling. Not only was he rude, but he pointed the blame back on us and told us to fix it, when the incorrect order had been sent out. Instead of taking steps to fix the situation, he was only interested in arguing the point and forcing more blame back on us, the customers, which was totally senseless. He told us we could come in and collect the order (which we were unable to do, as we didn't have a car to use - hence the need for delivery in the first place), but that they wouldn't deliver it again. I have previously worked in customer service and the hospitality industries and can say, hand on heart, I have never encountered service as remotely appalling as this; A totally unhelpful, rude and snarky member of staff ruining a good business. A very disappointing...
