The spicy pork broth was perfectly peppery and comforting, especially on a cold day. We opted for add-ons like potato, rice cake, and sweet potato noodles. While the potatoes weren't worth it(they didn't absorb the flavour in the short time) the rice cakes were excellent—just be careful not to overcook them, as they stuck to the bottom. The sweet potato noodles were decent but not particularly memorable. The add-on fried rice is really good too!The accompanying kimchi was fresh and had a nice bite. Overall, it was a satisfying meal with a few minor issues.
Oh and there was some wait there. Before you start queuing, be sure to put your name down on the board. It will be on the wall inside the restaurant. So make sure you walk into the restaurant and write your name down on the waiting list. The restaurant is also not big so probably not for bigger groups.
Ordered: Large spicy pork bone stew Add-on: rice cake, potato, sweet potato noodle, fried rice (3 servings), 1 peach soju 4 girls managed to finish everything with no left overs. 😅
Total cost: $120,...
Read moreThis newly opened Korean restaurant in Lidcombe was a nice surprise. I’ve always liked restaurants that special in one dish because they usually do a good job of it.
This restaurant is no different, they specialise in pork bone soup or Gamjatang. There are a few places around Lidcombe that also serve this dish and do a good job of it, but this one is very unique and probably my new favourite in Lidcombe.
They only have small or large size of the soup, but have a variety of add ons and sides. Also you have the option to have the soup cooked with rice after for some pork bone soup fried rice.
The flavours were amazing and the pork meat was fall off the bone tender! Just makes me hungry thinking about it!
Definitely worth a visit if you like pork bone soup and the fried rice is a must try. The prices are reasonable too for the area and you’d be paying the same elsewhere for lesser quality.
Have been a couple times. Once with a group of four and another with one other person. So a small and large worker out well for both times. Can get very busy as they don’t have a big spot, but definitely...
Read moreIt was my first time having this korean dish. Because it was novel to me, I really enjoyed every bit of the flavour. It was delicious, full of unami, and unique to me. Felt like I was transported to korea. Really good stuff. The staff were earnest enough but there's a bit of communication gap between us which is no fault of anyone. They knew their stuff and it is best to just sit back and enjoy. As many reviewers have pointed out, order the fried rice towards the end of your meal. It is definitely the cherry on top. Now for the negatives, the portion size when served up looks massive. However when you start eating it, you quickly realise it is mostly bones. I'm talking large chunky bones. With scraps of meat that you work hard to scrap off the nooks and crannies of the bones because it is so yummy. Overall my table left hungry. I get that it is a bone soup... the name literally says it. Bone. But the reality only dawned on me when eating. Still, it was mighty delicious and worth a try if you haven't already. I will come back...
