Proper feast with all the essentials. Banchan spread was decent: kimchi, pickled radish, cabbage slaw, and a small scoop of mashed potato. Not the most extensive variety, but it covered the basics and tasted fresh. The standout was easily the meat platter: beautifully marbled cuts, well-seasoned and generous in portion. Tongue, galbi, pork belly, beef short rib, and chicken all came out looking photogenic and grilled up juicy with that ideal balance of char and tenderness.
They had real charcoal which made a huge difference due to the smoky aroma, deeper flavour, and proper searing, especially noticeable on the beef tongue and pork belly. You could hear the sizzle and see flames dancing every time meat hit the grill. The kimchi jjigae came out bubbling hot, flavourful but leaning toward mild for spice, would've liked a bit more punch. The seafood pancake was crisp at the edges and nicely loaded with veg, not too doughy, and paired well with the tangy dipping sauce.
The vibe of the place was lively but casual. Wooden tables, industrial chairs, exposed brick. Pretty standard Korean BBQ aesthetic but with good lighting and a bustling energy. Service was attentive enough; staff came by often to change grills and offer refills. Towards the end of the night, you could see tables piled with bones and empty dishes, a sign that most people here leave full and happy.
Overall, solid KBBQ spot. Not the absolute best side dish variety, but the quality of meats and charcoal grilling made up for it. Good place to come with a group and eat like...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ogong Korean BBQ in Australia, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.
The atmosphere was clean, cozy, and authentically Korean — walking in felt like stepping into a little piece of Seoul. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, taking the time to explain the menu thoroughly, which was especially helpful for those less familiar with traditional Korean dishes.
We tried the Chapsal Sundae-guk (Sticky Rice Blood Sausage Soup), Dwaeji Gukbap (Pork Soup with Rice), and Sundae Jeongol (Blood Sausage Hot Pot). Each dish was packed with flavor. The broths were rich and comforting without being greasy, and the meats were perfectly prepared — tender, flavorful, and free of any unpleasant odor. The side dishes (banchan) were fresh and well-balanced, adding even more depth to the meal. A special shoutout to the Suyuk (Boiled Pork Slices) — it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, especially when dipped in their homemade sauces.
Pricing was reasonable, portions were generous, and the quality was top-notch. Whether you're craving BBQ or hearty Korean comfort food, Ogong is a fantastic choice.
All in all, Ogong Korean BBQ delivered great food, warm service, and an authentic Korean dining experience. It’s definitely a place I’ll be returning to — highly...
Read moreCame here for dinner on a Friday night. Didn't seem to be as busy when we came by at around 5:30pm (plenty of seats available).
Ordered their 'wagyu bbq set' and steamed eggs. Their wagyu meat was not bad...more like average quality meat. I did not like the supposedly ribeye steak that came with the bbq set. I didn't cook it for that long but the meat still tasted a bit tough. When you think of wagyu beef, you think of high quality meat. This piece of 'wagyu steak' was definitely not a tender and juicy steak!
I like having steam eggs when we go out for korean bbq. Unfortunately, this steam eggs was not as tasty compared to others that I have tried at other restaurants. Usually they're light and fluffy in texture. The the steam eggs here was a bit dry. The egg texture was very dense as if the egg was cooked too long that it absorbed all the broth.
The side dish here was average. You get like about 5 different dishes and can ask for them to be refilled.
Overall, this resturant is pretty average. Prices is reasonable. But not sure if I will come here again...
