Probably one of the worst food experiences I’ve had with a fast food place. For context, it was my birthday today, and as a lot of places are closed on Mondays my girlfriend and I opted to get gyg delivered (it’s one of our favourite places to eat). Of course the food arrives and my meal is completely missing. My girlfriends meal was there but she was hesitant to eat without me, while I drove up to get the food.
When I arrive, I tell the person at the register that I had an item missing and that this exact same thing happened last time (which is true). He wrote down my details and said he would contact Uber. I was a little bit taken aback because I had driven down to get the food so I would at least expect compensation for the missing item, which I told him and eventually he put the missing item in for free. Still, compensation by replacing one item seems a bit slack, especially when I told him this had happened before, I had driven down and that we were paying the inflated Uber price in the first place.
I finally got my burrito and drove home. I ordered a spicy chicken cali burrito with habanero and extra chicken. I realised two things when I got home with the new burrito. The burrito was mild and I definitely did not get the extra chicken I paid for. So even after all the hassle my food was a disappointment. Meanwhile, my girlfriend had put chipotle mayo on her tacos which tasted disgusting (tasted like metal) and her tacos barely had any filling in the first place. The chipotle mayo was clearly past date, which is why it tasted funny. She had to throw her food out and we ended up ordering somewhere else.
I normally love gyg, and have been eating there for years. But at least for this store, this was the last straw. Just a very disappointing and infuriating...

I generally don't complain about waiting time since I do work in similar work environment but for 3 times in a row, this shop has made me wait for my food around 10-15mins. This wans't due to being busy but they just left my food on the bench and never bothered calling my app number.
I've shown my number to one of the staff here before during the peek time and was told off not to push my phone to her face, I get it, its annoying when there is a lot of Ubereats who pushes the employee to give them the food so I waited until they call my number. in the end after waiting for 20-30min that day, i had to show my number to different staff. It's fine if they're struggling to push the food out but it annoyes me when i see that my food was just left on bench top corner not being bothered to be taken care of for like 10min.
This time, which is the cause of me writing this review. I came in and ordered 1 burrito. i saw the shop was empty and can tell it wasnt busy at all. I ordered the food and saw my burrito on the bench being prepped ( i know it was mine as i added few extra stuff). Next thing i see is they leave my food on the bench again and the server decided to serve 4 new customers instead of just handing me that food. Honestly i was about to walk into the kitchen and grab it.
Here's the thing. Hot food should go out asap, customer won't compalin if they have to wait to order but they will complain if there's unnecessary waiting time to...
Read moreI have been a regular customer at Guzman y Gomez Top Ryde, but my recent experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered two boxes of Quesadilla Plus, and both were subpar. The grilled chicken was burnt, imparting a bitter, charred taste that made it inedible. Additionally, the fillings were sparse and poorly assembled, leaving the quesadillas feeling empty and unsatisfying. I ended up discarding more than half of the meal.
What was more concerning was the behavior of the staff. The young employees appeared untrained and unprofessional, engaging in loud conversations and horseplay behind the counter. It seemed they were more focused on socializing than preparing quality food.
After this experience, I checked the Google reviews and noticed a significant number of one-star ratings in few months. It became clear that my experience was not an isolated incident, and others have faced similar issues regarding food quality and service.
