Haberfield Rowers Club — Restaurant in Sydney

The overall experience is really uncomfortable, it seems that the manager is showing discrimination to us, maybe is because of we are Asians, or maybe we have a born Chinese face. From the beginning one of the staff told me they are fully booked, if you want to you must book in advance or maybe on another day, and give us a name card, we get out and walk downstairs, get two cups of coffee, and checked online, sure we can book now or 15minutes later, or 1 hour later, two hours later, a deposit is required.

Once again, we waited in the reception, and were asked to give the staff additional 10 minutes cleaning process. Sure, that' fine. Another two guests waited after us, and they haven't booked as well. One staff told that they are fully booked, and went inside to assist cleaning, therefore, I give the name card and told them they can book it online, because I just booked 10 minutes ago. But, supprisingly, I heard the manager or the lady who weard a white dress , answering the phone,'We were fully booked' and after she finished the phone, she took these two guests in directly without any bookings.

As it was to celebrate my birthday, we requested a window table online. But still, she gave us an outside table, but not close to the view, told us the table was reserved, but actually ridiculous, that table was given to an old couple who were just walked in. I cannot tell what experience we should have, and I saw a few people walked around or taking photoes or playing with child. Everywhere, every corner. I wish they had a CCTV camera, then they can have a look. After we finished our brunch, we would like to take some photos at the end. Unbelievable, the manger walking towards to us and told us "you can not walk around." I really cannot understand, if it is protecting the safety, why you did not mention it from the beginning, and do not allow others to come to our surroundings, please be fair and respect to eveyone, so we saw other people took photoes everywhere as they wish because the manager did not see it. But we cannot, because the manger just only see we are crossing. We don't k now what to say, we have no words, but bad emotions due to the service or the staff? No kindness, even no respect. If you are the manager who saw this review, then that's really good and fine good that you have read, because I am telling the truth, which I haven't finished yesterday. To finish the argument, we just don't want to talk with you any more to let us down.

I have never been to a club which serves people in this way, you had broaden my eyes, and I will try to ask more people to understand what you had done and try to experience a bad journey in your restaurant. If you really don't welcoming any Chinese, just let more people know.

Haberfied rowers restaurant has an amazing waterfront view from the outdoor deck and within the restaurant of iron cove bay. It’s suitable for celebrating events, brunch, dinner or drinks during sunset 👍🏻.

There is limited parking at the venue, so you just need to hope for the best that someone leaves when you arrive, otherwise it’s a 10 minute walk from La montage.

The menu can be somewhat confusing because the table QR code takes you to an online menu which offers some dishes different to their website or bar menu. Ordering food is simple using QR code, select, add to cart, checkout using credit card and wait for food to be served 👍🏻. The most disappointing part was waiting for food to be served which took a good half hour or more on a busy Saturday night. One of my dishes did not come and I ended up getting a refund, it wasn’t what I wanted but wasn’t a bad outcome either as I wasn’t going to wait for another 10-20 minutes👎

The menu isn’t cheap and to be honest the food taste average. For similar prices that you pay at the boatshed prymont they offer better quality food and selection of dishes mostly including seafood as main. So what does rowers offer and my feedback: Bar type food such BBQ ribs $38 for a full rack with lots of fries and a few pieces salad leaf. Ribs was decent size, but wasn’t meaty at all, mainly bones. Prawn linguine $35, wasn’t a great dish either lacking flavour as well. Long Island ice tea $22 for a highball with not much alcohol, just a lot of ice. Kids spaghetti & meatball taste very bland with hardly any sauce 👎

Attended a mates wedding tonight and the venue and location was amazing. After waking in and being greeted by staff we were taken to our seats at a beautifully set table . While waiting for the main dish after entrees were served, they finally started sending out the dishes which consisted of one steak and one chicken, both with mash or chips . After noticing my wife wasn’t eating her serving of chicken which has never happened I asked her why ? She said the mash was literally cold as the salad it came with and the chicken was not even warm . After getting the attention of the main server from the staff which looked like a manager of some sort coz he was dressed casually rather than wearing a uniform like the rest of the staff and calling all the shots he came over and asked what was wrong. I had told him nicely and even called him brother that my wife’s dish was cold and inedible and he immediately got defensive and insisted that the dish had just come out of the oven. I looked up at him and said “are you calling me a liar? just put it in the microwave or something” after insisting that the food was fine he grabbed the plate and still managed to blabber under his tongue. He is a middle aged Indian or Nepalese man with no taste in clothes or manners. After seeing the little commotion that took place ,most of the staff in fact could not have been more helpful and courteous towards my wife and eventually a nice young lady offered her anything on the menu.
