In the mood for Japanese food? How about Korean food? Does sushi strike your fancy? If so, then you're in luck! Haru Japanese offers all of these in a light and bright location. Check out the flower-covered ceiling! An added bonus is that it's located right across the street from the Artamon station.
The Teriyaki Bento Box was delicious, with beef, seaweed, tofu, a generous portion of rice, a prawn, spring roll, potsticker and a salad. The Vegetable Bibimbap was served sizzling with a side of rice. It could have used a bit of sesame oil, but a dash of soy sauce and a generous squirt of hot sauce spiffed it right up! (A word of caution for vegetarians though: Make sure to confirm that the plate of side items accompanying the bibimbap are indeed vegetarian, as we failed to do that and bit into a delicious-looking item that we thought was tofu, but turned out to be some type of very fishy fish...).
The service was fast and friendly, and the prices were reasonable ($45 AUD for our two mains).

The seafood Korean pancake tasted pleasant enough but its texture was floppy and didn’t quite hold together. The sushi was very average. I also felt the servings were pretty small for the price and an overwhelming amount of the menu comprised deep fried items which is hard to get wrong but even the lotus root chips we ordered were not crispy.
