A hidden gem. I was lucky enough to snag a table for opening night and can honestly say that I, along with my friends who were equally impressed, have found a new local for Friday nights. Before I get started on the food (which literally blew our socks off) I need to mention the charming vibe of the cafe; perfectly lit (I like it to be on the dim side as it makes it romantic and cosy, but also light enough to see the food) combined with traditional Italian music that you can’t help but sway to (especially after a few glasses of their authentic Italian wine). Now comes the food. Ok, let’s just start with the entree; You need to get the chicken parfait. Mind. blown. Also a special mention to the garlic bread which we ended up grabbing three plates of because it was just perfection. The mains; I would heavily suggest the Lamb Ragu Pappardelle (which is made in house!) - I am not exaggerating when I say that i’ve been searching for a version of this dish for the last 10 years of my life and did not expect to find the best in a small cafe in Artarmon, but facts are facts. The Truffle Porcini Mushroom Risotto is also a close second, as someone who is not a fan of rice (don’t judge) I was actually stealing some of my friends serving when she wasn’t looking… Perfect consistency, creamy, and with a strong truffle flavour that wasn’t too heavy. Definitely recommend. For desserts we had quite the range; the cannoli, which was also made in house, was apparently amazing, which also explains why my friend wouldn’t share any of it with anyone else and finished it in a couple of seconds. The bread and butter pudding was also a favourite that we did not expect, but it was deliciously warming and the perfect sweetness to hit the spot. Also special mention to the affogato for those of your who may be a little full from the two previous courses, this is the perfect choice. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay welcoming and I can’t recommend this place enough to anyone who is wanting exceptional food and wine (without the price tag), and a charming night out.

Took the morning off to see my once a month concubine who resides in the CBD. Anyway, got to Artarmon Station early and as I didn't want to rush the best day of my month I took the opportunity to check out the local Coffee hole. I think i've had coffee from Zucchero Coffee Bar. Zucchero is directly opposite Artarmon Station so they gave a lot of morning and afternoon traffic. As it was just after the traditional morning commuters rush hour I was happy to see a minor line of coffee lovers. The staff are friendly and the barista was working her hole out making multiple coffees in a speedy and professional manner. Served quickly and efficiently and took my place hovering at the entrance. Zucchero also offers a healthy and delicious breakfast menu that I admired from the outside seating. Dog friendly and pedestrian tight, however locals seemed to be relaxed and friendly shuffling between the coffee waiting crowd, outsider diners as well as their narrow but charming inside dining area. Coffee delivered quickly and with the enthusiasm of a happy, well connected cafe team. Management/owners should be very happy with the staff. They worked so well together and managed to make and deliver the non-stop coffee orders on time every time. Coffee was well made. No bitterness, a fabulous balance of milk, steam and coffee. Will certainly return when I make my next date with my lovely city concubine. Great coffee vibe and awesome $4.00 coffee for a small.

Lovely place. The owner was friendly, kind and engaged in some good chat - it breathes personality into the cafe. I also liked that I had the option to chill with a beer after my coffee. The toasted salami panini was delicious too. I will be back on a Friday night soon as the owner told me he will open up on Fridays for beer from next week. I should also say it was good for completing some life admin on my laptop. There was WiFi and the environment wasn’t too loud. The ambience was good but not overwhelming.

This morning we travelled to this Artarmon cafe for breakfast. I had walked past the cafe earlier this week and saw that it was very busy for lunch, and I brought my wife with me to eat a meal here. We wanted something different from the usual breakfast fare and we are happy with the menu here. we chose to share two toasties, the smokey cheddar cheese with pickles, and the cheese and mushrooms with truffle oil. Both were super delicious, washed down each with large, Dirty Chai. The toasties were delicious and so cheesy, were full up till dinner. Loved them. Staff are warm, friendly and helpful. We will be back for lunch some time. A meal here is highly...
